Moraine Bike Trail, Moraine State Park Pa.
zhlédnutí 2,3KPřed 6 lety
This is a thrilling 7 mile ride along the banks of Lake Arthur. With it's twists and turns ups and downs has made this a great ride and one of the best trails in this region. Unlike rail trails like the Montour trail it's more challenging and exciting. For the exception of a few cuts this video is shown in it's entirety at 2X speed so that you the viewer can see the complete experience in half ...

This scenic ride around North Park Lake is well marked, smooth with grades steeper than the average Montour rail trail. It's a 5 mile ride, great workout and well worth the trip.

Roaring Run Trail Apollo Pa. 6 -16

This is a scenic ride on the Roaring Run Trail in Apollo Pa. with a lot of single track bike trails surrounding this trail. The Rock Furnace Trail and suspension bridge are a must see. Activities along the Kiski River are endless and as you can see the water is clear and open to canoes and Kayaks. Montour Trail doesn't have this.
Westmoreland Heritage Trail Extension 6-16
zhlédnutí 429Před 7 lety
My last visit here was in 2012 and this trail ended at Rt.819 and since then this extension was added. Similar to the Montour Trail in many ways it is heavily wooded surrounded by tree with a high canopy, smooth surface, well sighed, well marked with state of the art crossings, easy to find. The Beaver Reservoir would be more visible in the spring or fall. Well worth the trip. Follow the link b...

This video shows the new resurface of Corrigan Drive in South Park Pa. and the way to the Montour Trail. The connector is across from the Buffalo reserve. Corrigan Dr. once upon a time used the outer lanes for bike traffic only but a fatal accident (car vs pedestrians) changed all that for decades. Today it's better than ever, smoother, wider, faster but car vs bike accidents are still possible...

It is nice to see the lay of the land along this trail. Do you know if "Sap St" which Google Maps displays down in the Narrows between McMechon and Glen Dale is a dirt trail that can easily be travelled by a mountain bike? Or is "Sap St" completely bogus and cannot be traveled by bike?

This is great ! Our family had a farm tween Weirton and Burgettstown. We used to ride our bikes on those trails when the trains were still using them. Used to be Francis mine and Hanlin Station. The road goin into the back of Colliers Station went past a farm run by a fellow named Mr. Slack. So we called the road Slacks hollow. That brought you out by the "Odd Fellows Club". Wonder if that's still there ?? Anybody know?

Sure you might have to lift your butt off of the seat in a few places if you're on a road bike, but it's not as bad as most streets. And I don't know of any paved trails that don't have similar buckling somewhere along their length.
