I got a chance to tour this distillery and was very impressed. Their bourbon is very good, as well as their barrel aged gin.
They are younger than I thought. Love there podcast and have had there whiskey. Great bottle

Ryan and Kenny do it right. I was doing the Whole Shabang tasting the day they filmed this and they were both so great to stick around to chat with me and my buddy on a Saturday prior to our tasting with Tim who also is so great about sharing his knowledge about Pursuit and the industry, not to mention his hockey knowledge and love of the Ducks! Can't say enough good things about Pursuit...Ryan and Kenny and all those associated with Pursuit Spirits. Can't wait to get back down and get some more of their great stuff! I’m in Florida and luckily Winn Dixie Liquor Carrie’s Driftless Glen bourbon and rye. DG is absolutely delicious and I would stack it up against any whiskey out there. Wisconsin whiskies rock!

Great interview and production quality but, I really wanted more of a review on the whiskey and you guys didn't even drink it or mention how it tastes.

Turn of the 18th to 19th century for Bourbon Spring, just to be clear, not turn of the 19th to 20th! Those small cask bourbons aged in shipment were very early on, by turn of the 19th to 20th century, large barrel bottled-in-bond was the standard!

Love Driftless Glen Port Cask Finished one of my favs
Nice one Jeff. I sipped on some a couple days ago while preparing samples to send to a classmate. It is fun and delicious with the subtle orange on the nose and early on the palate. I wondered if it didn't have a fair amount of rye in it. It's also interesting they use half white and yellow corn. Cheers
Glad you enjoyed it. Yes, the subtle orange notes and the warm spice really makes it a great pour. It's their normal bourbon that's finished in the Naranja cask. Very delish. Thanks for watching.

It's funny you should ask, we are actually working on finishing up the next distillery, Blaum Brothers out of Galena, Illinois. And, we just filmed at Side Show Spirits in Lincoln Nebraska. Which is in post-production as well. In the mean time, we are going to run some tasting videos we have filmed at many of the distilleries to fill the gap until the next series is ready. And, your comment is something we have heard from a few people, so I think we are going to work on mixing it up more and folding in more distilleries. But wait till you try it, if you haven't already.
I cracked open my Barrel Proof Rye last night and it's fantastic. Instead of drinking it right away, I let it stand in the glass for about five minutes and I think it improves the taste. I also bought the Barrel Proof Bourbon and tasted that right after opening and it definitely opened up after letting it sit for a short time. I think this company has a bright future. Well done gentlemen, I enjoy your video's '-) I'm relatively new to bourbon but generally I let my Scotch stand for about one minute for every year of age.

Thanks for tasting my whiskies! The Bourbon Spring is what we consider a "turn of the century" style of bourbon, but not the end of the 19th century, but rather the beginning of the 19th century. Aged a few months in a small cask is what we think was typical of bourbons in the early 1800s. Our 4yo Laughton Bros. Bottled-in-Bond is probably closest to what we think an end of the 19th century bourbon was like. I really found the perception and description during the tasting informative, and not inconsistent with what we hear from our customers. Meanwhile, the North American Steamship Rye 4yo Bottled-in-Bond is my favorite of my whiskies, and Bourbon Spring the most popular of my whiskies and having won the most medals for us.
Derrick, keep doing what you are doing. Throughly enjoyed the tasting. Hopefully, you expand your distribution so that everyone can experience these. I can wait to get over to your distillery and taste more of your offerings. As well as get to add them to my bar’s collection so that I can share them with others. Thad
