Hunt: Showdown Aim Assist on Players with Controller

I've seen a lot of debate about this so thought I'd whip up a quick demo. Notably, torso and head seem to track separately. Lemme know if you have any questions I might be able to answer or cover in future tests! This test was conducted in Update 1.9 on PS5 with the DualSense PS5 Controller.

I dont think this worked on Xbox One. Now have Xbox Serie X maybe i use this, still think it can works against you, and i think aim assist is less sporty than no aim assist. I also play with lower vertical sensitivity because of better control of the kick back.
There is no aim assist on hunters, only on grunts and explosive barrels. This shit is a lie.
Aim assist is way to strong I played 4 of 8 hours today on stream Hunt and died every round to controller player. The whole character acts differently you see it already how they jump etc. Turning 180 shooting and don’t miss 60% of the time. Disgusting
Would be interesting to make a longer video about this since Reddit pc hunters fear to be outclassed by controller players soon 😂 I’m having 700 hours with aim assist on and never noticed it on enemy hunters. Would be interesting to see the effect on targets that are more far away etc.

Also how is this helpful? If enemy is in movement you have to shoot in front of head quite a bit because of low bullet speed.
I thought there was no aim assist? I am confused, I remember reading it was turned of.

Only on PlayStation. Xbox has zero assist. Hence why I do not play crossplay. Lame Crytek
Have the same feeling about that. PS players seem to hit more often "impossible" shots or generally perform better. So there has to be something what makes the difference.
Hahahaha when I started playing year ago or so, my friend's told me "turn off the cross play, Xbox player's always hit impossible shots" Btw never felt any aim assist on players but do on zombie's so I turn it off so it doesn't mess with my aim.
i'm on playstation and was told to turn off crossplay because xbox players use mouse and keyboard
@runningToAST alot of ps5 players have been cheating using aim bot it makes for frustrating game play when you come across one's that are cheating.
People in 5-6 star lobbies don't use aim assist. I turned it off first day of playing years back. Nobody I play with uses aim assist. It messes with your aim, will snap to grunts, barrels etc. Useless.

Good stuff! I don't play on console, but I had no idea all the same and this is interesting to see. :) The effect doesn't seem all that strong, at least without experiencing it. Especially so if the 'magnetism' is low enough to be counteracted/broken by player inputs. Does this still kick in at longer ranges? I'm just wondering how impactful this ends up being out in the field.
Yea so I did a bit more testing at mid and longer ranges (which I kinda regret not including in the video) and it was quite minimal. I don't play with it enabled so I don't want to say exactly what difference it makes in real firefights, but my sense from the testing I did is that it helps quite a bit with counteracting pistol sway and makes killing ai pretty effortless. I personally don't enjoy playing with aim assist in any game, so I have had it off for four thousand hours and haven't felt myself at much of a disadvantage in terms of aim articulation. Of course, I might be doing better after all that time getting used to having it on. I hope the elaboration is interesting to ya :)
