Great to see your channel growing quickly mate, a day later already over 300 yewww I just got back from a fishing trip, so doing a catch up 👍 What size line are you running again? Go back to basics. One rod, hand held or closely monitored. That way, when you have a runner, you can strike. Also, set your drag to fighting drag. You are fishing with a light drag, presumably to prevent the rod being dragged into the water. So, either leave the bail open or hold the rod. Striking a fish with a light drag will not penetrate its mouth, so you will not have a secure connection.
@@AndrewFishman generally when we get a touch we will hold the rod… my drag was fairly loose as 1 we the fish were huge bites and I thought they would feel the tension of the line if they did a big bite but didn’t actually hook up and also I didn’t want the line to snap… both times the fish were ripping drag for atleast a minute and then POP off they get….. @@TobysfishingNoutdoors Tighten up a little. If you are consistently losing fish, it is likely that. Or you are not striking them hard enough to set the hook, which, again, you cannot do with a light drag.

@@TobysfishingNoutdoors crc tackle gaurd is ok... ish. it removes water but what is left is obviously salt, dust, dirst and grime. Yes, it removes water but it can't really remove the stuff that harms your gear.

@@bushfishncook2128 well my daiwa one is actually a bit sticky.. I’ve washed is and used WD40, it wasn’t sticky yesterday but is a bit today.
@@TobysfishingNoutdoors ahh WD40 is the best for reels you want something like "CRC tackle guard" you can get it from anaconda, you don't need a heap, so it lasts a long time 👍 Open the spool, then spray the inside with tackle guard and put it back together.

@@TobysfishingNoutdoors it feels like it's helping at first but slowly wears away the grease, there is also a really good grease style spray, I can't remember the name of it off the top of my head, but when I remember I will let you know 👍

@@SAfishin-p2n thanks man, appreciate that, I’ve found the more subs that you get the easier it gets… it took me about I only hit 200 at the end of this month or very late last month, I’ve nearly gotten 100 subs in a month…. You will get there as well, 1 tip, maybe not so much random stuff in the shorts (that’s not meant to be mean) but if people sub to you to watch fishing, they don’t wanna watch other stuff…

@@Michael_Lane_Fishing umm… I’m not really the best person to be telling facts about ocean fishing 😂, I’m really not that good at it…. But from what I’ve learnt, there is more chance of you hooking up/getting bites while in the gutters, the fish like the deeper water, I’m sure you could catch them anywhere though? 🤷♂️ Thanks for watching and thanks for the sub! @@AndrewFishman yeah, I was just worried/stressed that people would not follow me early on… as all I was catching was carp and Redfin… dad likes it even more know that we have the yak, he’s been out nearly every time I’ve been out! It’s just with his really bad back and shoulder that he can’t be in it for too long, he’s done his back multiple times as he overdid himself on the farm, sorta like Robbie’s back problems…
