I picked up Pepsi man for 18k minus tax. Only saw 1 copy on my trip and it was on my list. It was like new though with spine. I'm more condition than price. 13k is a great deal.

To anyone who is going to look for this TV on a new chipset and wonder how to find the difference. Well, firstly it will be very unusual or rather extremely unlucky now in 2024 to receive an old X1 stock. Most likely you'll get the upgraded model without even asking for it. Secondly - your tv will run on Android Version 12. Old stock was on Android version 11. Then wake up your inner geek and go to: Settings > System > About > Product Information. You are looking for chipset MT9653-S1. That's it, if you see it, you have the latest upgraded version of this awesomness. Those on older X1 version have older chipset MT9615. For those in Europe - you don't even have to unpack your tv. Look at the box itself, the product label will show either X2 or X8, for example the 85" version will be written as 85C845KX8 (or X2 at the end, they are the same).

How much does it cost in postage fees and import tax to get these PVM's back to Australia? It must be a fortune!

I'm not sure as it has mixed and bad reviews on Negg, don't believe me? go read them. I have Gigabyte m28u and going to 32" isn't that much of a size change, but the reviews have me concerned

I'm afraid to say, with considerable sadness, that Friends won't be returning. 😟 4AMLaundry interviewed the co-owner a few weeks back. They confirmed that the building was being demolished and they have taken the opportunity to retire - I know they were certainly of that age, and it's a well-earned rest. Sad loss of an amazing store, but alas!

I think I went to this hardoff and got Sin and Punishment N64. I only have 1 PS3 title, the Ico/SOTC double pack special edition. Everything else is PAL/USA. Next time I am in Japan i'm going to hunt controllers/consoles and gizmos as well. I hope you have Doremi Fantasy in your SFC collection, that was my no1 want on my trip and I failed to get it and it wasn't price I just didn't see one copy at all. I would have paid Y100000 for it boxed.

Think I visited this store on my last trip. I recognize the cabinet with the Y100,000+ Game and watch CIB's. I walked out with nothing and it was a shame because me and the mrs walked for 30 minutes from the station to get there. I buy from wanted lists, which is a discipline of disappointment sometimes. I have no FC games unboxed, everything is complete. My last visit in Japan I bought more FC boxed games than any other console type. Maybe you have some wisdom you can share? Why do some games have the barcode deliberately cut out? Also, how do you fit whole PS3/PS4 consoles in your luggage? I took a tank of a suit case and had one spare and I filled it to the brim without any consoles. One thing I'll say about FC boxed games, I don't play them much unless they are already lying around. Simply because its simpler to open a clamshell plastic case without fear of damaging the box. So I keep all my usual plays sitting around in a pile so I Can just shove it in the console. I think for casual collectors its much better to buy clamshell games CIB and cardboard box games loose. It just makes sense.

A cheapesh PS1 game that I thought was brilliant was Motortoon Grand Prix 2. Its made by Polyphony (Gran Turismo fame) and was their last non Gran Turismo game. The Japanese version comes with 2 discs, the 2nd disc is especially for link up using the proprietory cable. There is no Japanese text in the game. Although not as popular as Mariokart it was an absolute tour de force of PS1 graphics on release. Strangely it got reviewed as a so so game and in the west went under the radar. In the west it was simply known as Motortoon Grand Prix, since the first game was JP exclusive (and a launch title, but its really just a demo dressed up as a game). When you complete MTGP2 you get lots of extra content including a Battleships game, which also uses link up. Unfortunately to see all this, you need 2 PS1's with the cable connector on the back. I believe the JP version is the only version with link up, but don't hold me to that. After MTGP2, Polyphony said "Why are making these silly racing games, we want to make a simulator". The rest is history. I think I already mentioned, Ten Made Jack, Oh no! and Odo Odo oddity. Pastel Muses? There is a Japanese double pack of Jumping flash, which includes 1 and 2.
