Uncut - The War Hospital | Abandoned Location | Urbex
A fast-paced explore of an old hospital which has now been completely gutted and is currently being converted to flats. The whole building site was active with workers so we had to move quickly. I couldn't take photos with my film camera as it takes time, but did snap a few great shots on my phone! Great explore none the less!

    Man the zone is so cool, it sucks there had to be such a disaster to create it. I wish I could explore it but now I think Ukraine won't be happy until the entire country is glassed.. Also the pre-evacuation "big bad communist bloc" city looks far more inviting and clean than anything I've seen here in North America since my childhood. We were all sold a false future it seems.

    Nuclear everything is bad. I don’t care what people say about safe or clean energy etc because with the meltdowns that have happened around the world, it shows how dangerous it is. All it takes in a runaway meltdown beyond Chernobyl’s with current reactors and you can end mankind or severely impact food and water. It’s is not worth the risk at all. One single disaster can impact all of mankind. I have friends who work at nuclear reactor facilities and they said there is so much that goes on that is not made public and there’s been some near disasters around the world not disclosed either. There’s more they’ve told me and some they absolutely cannot talk about. This tells you all you need to know when the workers themselves express their concerns so yeah, anyone who supports or defends these things or anything nuclear is in denial.

    Hi, I'm looking for a documentary about Chernobyl children that I found on CZcams about 10 years ago. It was quite a long documentary, probably more than an hour long, I don't remember much of it but I would like to see it again. There was a lady in it, probably a scientist, who talked about the accident and the effects of radiation on people, children, animals, etc. I remember the part where they went in a van to some hospital and passed by the power plant. A noise appeared on the video during this and the lady said it was due to radiation. They were all wearing white coats and respirators. That's about all I remember. If anyone has seen this document that I am describing and you have a link to it or some source, I would be very happy if you could provide it to me. Big thanks

Many people still don't realize this. Before i knew it i could not imagine that a nuclear reactor can be THAT dangerous. Not even comparable with any nuclear bomb.

  • @PBeringer
    @PBeringer Před 2 lety

    Before I watch this, is there a properly informed explanation of the numerous ways radiation dosing and contamination are measured? Because I skipped to the end where a very unreliable looking Geiger counter/radiation alarm is being held up to items of clothing, and they're freaking out over ~100-200 microsieverts. Those numbers really need some perspective (especially when communicating to a lay audience) in relation to background levels, as well as in the context of doses received during commercial air travel and medical imaging, and so on. It's only fair - most people don't know a Sievert from a Curie from a Becquerel from a Roentgen from a rad from a rem; it's really complicated. And there are other critical fundamentals to understand like the differences between alpha, beta and gamma radiation and even what isotope half lives actually mean for people and the environment. Explaining the unique design differences of the RMBK type reactors is another critical piece of information that needs to be included in any documentation of Chernobyl - they were unique to the Soviet Union and although inherently safe by design, they weren't necessarily very "resilient to human error" (to say the least). There is just so much misinformation about nuclear technology (often linked back to Chernobyl, and Fukushima more recently) that is only serving to cost humanity some pretty big opportunities to do anything about ditching fossil fuels for good. So ... is the science at least close to correct? Or is it just the same old "disaster porn" with touch of Cold War era racial/nationalistic superiority and smugness? Many people would be surprised to learn (if they cared to know) just how close to home many sites of FAR more dangerous radioactive contamination actually are. Anyone here from California ..? Hehe ;)

      @aaweshwagholikar4269 Před 2 lety
