We're overtaxed by the national government and we received pathetic service....no value. To then be taxed again at local government level is nothing more than robbery. Municipalities should use the equitable share only to deliver services to everyone.....since it's the taxpayers that paid mainly through, corporate tax, personal income tax and vat.

What then are we to do when services are absent, ineffiecient and inconsistent? Are we still to pay our rates? 😢

This is pure propaganda. The City of Cape Town does not listen to its ratepayers. The ward Councillors generally do not respond or even acknowledge communication. Decisions are autocratic, the voice of the residents are not listened to as typified by the pushing through of a budget way above inflation against the voice of opinion of the residents.
