Canadian Rockies Summer 2017 Roadtrip & Camping
This summer Canada turns 150 years old. My buddy and I decided to spend a week in the Canadian Rockies in Banff & Jasper National parks to celebrate. This footage is from June 2017, which is just ahead of the peak season in July. Going early in the season, it was slightly less busy but the weather was more overcast and slightly rainy. We saw lots of beautiful scenery such as mountains, lakes, canyons, and rivers. Wildlife seen including grizzlies and black bear, as well as elk, lots of squirrels and chipmunks, and some cool mountain birds including the biggest crow I've ever seen sitting on the icefields parkway.
This year I wanted to prioritize a trip to see the beauty in my own country, and support the local economy for our neighbours in Alberta who are going through tough times. Alberta is a beautiful province, and rockies have a type of epic beauty I hadn't previously experienced in the coastal areas of British Columbia.
To my American friends, please consider coming up to see Canada sometime if you haven't yet. We are an amazing beautiful country for nature lovers and we are happy to have Americans visit up here. Thanks for watching!

High Value Watch Collection - Seiko, Citizen, G-Shock & Timex

As a prepared person, I wear a watch everyday. Just like knives, and multi-tools, a watch add alot of utility on a daily basis. I own several analog, and several digital watches, from manufacturers such as Timex, Casio (including G-shock), Seiko and Citizen. I really am a fan of solar technology wherever possible, and I like AFFORDABLE watches! Models below: Citizen Men's Eco-Drive Titanium BM6...
Leatherman Juice vs Victorinox Huntsman - For the Prepared Among Us

Leatherman Juice vs Victorinox Huntsman Come join me for a fun comparsion and discussion about these two multitools. The Leatherman has great plyers, but in many other respects I prefer the Victorinox tools such as the larger knife, saw, and scissors, which are lacking in the Juice C2. There are several other models of juice, such as the S2, and EX6 which have different tools, and unfortunately...

Minimal Stealth Camp Backpacking Setup: Ultra-Light 20 lbs

This is by far the lightest overnight camping setup I've ever had. I skimped majorly on food, cooking equipment, excess water, and other gear because I didn't need to make a fire. However, with me I have a hammock sleeping system, fixed blade, fire making, and other basic capabilities for a one night trip.

Backpacking trip to some lakes on Vancouver island, which I recently relocated to. On this trip, I walk in with a very compact 20 lb backpack to test out a hammock sleeping system. Learned some valuable lessons about hammocks, and definitely have some room to improve. However...

Island Stealth Camping with Tarp Shelter

Stealth Camping is a fun hobby, whereby you camp without explicit permission on public or private land. It's a leave no trace type of camping, where you avoid making fires, and generally practice being quiet and unobtrusive. In this case, we showed up to a campground late in the day, and got skunked on a site. Instead we ventured into the bush, and camped under neath simple tarp shelters. Lots ...

They gouge us Canadians when it comes to knives. I've had a ton of Beckers and finally got my dream knife the Esee 6. I love it because you get everything; micarta scales, hardshell sheath, and that Rowen heat treat. I've been using it everyday since I got it and have yet to sharpen it. The Bk7 is a great chopper and I feel it bites better when chopping wood, the Esee 6 requires a bit more swings to really chop so for chopping, the BK7 gets the cake but the Esee just stays sharper and it's so comfortable in the hand when using. I might get the Izula to piggy back on my 6, or I might get the Junglas. We'll see..

Gave you seen the camouflage scales on the 111mm series? Don’t much like the scales on the 91mm. Too shiny. The bigger ones are not shiny, the scales are matte color and don’t scratch easily like the shiny ones.

Arguably the greatest tutorial involving one's middle finger I've ever witnessed. When he shows how to place it in your palm, and how the middle finger then joins up with the other two fingers it "wants to get back to," the riddle is solved and the trick is deciphered. Pupil becomes master. Well done my friend, even if I am a decade late.

your wrong you can take apart a Leatherman there knurled screws the plier head is a just circular pins but the tool side has to flat sides so the body wont move, you can only turn the screw pin on the tool end, you can customise the Leatherman just remember to put a bit of lock tight back on the pins when you screw them back up

I have the Esee 6. Great knife and the steel and heat treat seem pretty awesome. I don't really like the plastic sheath and for the money ya why not throw in a kydex sheath. Not a big fan of the flat handles either, they're not only flat but kind of small and there's nothing on the butt, it just gets smaller which reduces its chopping effectiveness. As someone mentioned it is also blade heavy. I came here because I was looking for a comparison between the Esee 6 and BK7 and while I did learn some things I wanted to see them compared in action.

I carry a Multitool all the time and my friend always has a pocket knife and he has asked me to use my pliers, screwdriver on the Multitool, or he cuts himself trying to use his knife as a screwdriver, pry bar, or fail to fix something. Yes, a multitool is nowhere near the best tool for doing anything but I have helped people or got myself out of situations. As far as self defense, I doubt it will save you from a robbery or attacker, unless your a expert fighter with a knife, but even then, a bullet or a few bullets would most likely put you down. If your attacker has no weapons, I guess a knife, or a multitool could help, but I definitely wouldn't carry anything less than a gun for that purpose. I rarely cut open stuff away from home, so I use a pocket knife at home and a multitool away from home. A multitool is most likely acceptable by cops, if they see it, where knives are most likely considered as weapons. I have a Leatherman Charge G10 that has a S30V steel knife and Leatherman has the Arc with a Magnacut steel knife on it which proves knife steel can't be the reason to say pocket knife steel is better, but you can definitely say that knife blades on fixed or pocket knives can be bigger and stronger than multitool knife blades. I normally carry a SOG Powerpint, and the knife blade is ok for the small cutting I do away from home, but I normally use the pull hook cutter, the wire cutters on the pliers, or I need the serrated blade. I have used the knife a few times though. Because of the steel on the SOG Powerpint, I usually have a Leatherman in my vehicle backpack, or jacket pocket, just in case, if possible. I have a Leatherman Knifeless Rebar for a bag, jacket pocket or pouch carry backup and I sometimes change my SOG Powerpint for my Leatherman Rev, Bolster, or Bond, depending on what I am doing that day.

Esee learns from Becker but Becker is more stubborn to oearn from esee. Esee learned a quality from becker knives. 3 d handles. Becker still makes crappy sheaths except for the bk 18 and 19 (small blades) and crappy plastic for handles. Even without the warranty, if Becker included micarta handles and polymer sheaths. ALOT more people would huy Beckers. Also if their knives looked as cool as esee. If they did all that esee wouldn't compete as well.

I've also owned three Para 3s all in the same blade steels. Gave away my G10 S30V and my G10 S110V. I only have the LW iin SPY27. For whatever reason, I've never really been into the Para 3. Bought a Benchmade Mini Grip earlier this year and I love it. Now I'm waiting for a couple of knives. They're arriving today (09/09/2023). A Benchmade 940BK-2004 Blade HQ exclusive and a 945 Mini Osborne. I've been a Spyderco guy since the 'ber' months of 2021 but this lately, I've been so much into Benchmades.
