Join me as I float 'The Hidden Buffalo' Marble to Marshall Ford on the Kings River is one of the best stretches of river I have ever been on. It is comparable to Ponca to Kyles Landing on the Buffalo River. The entire stretch is something to behold. So many features! Kendall bluff is defiantly the highlight of the trip. We also saw snakes, cows and a ground hog. I tried to capture the best mome...

Join me as I hike one of Arkansas's best waterfalls. Sweden Creek Falls Natural Area provides amazing scenery all year. I compare the winter of 2021 to spring 2024. This is a 1.75-mile out-and-back trail close to Kingston, Arkansas. Regarded as moderately challenging, it typically takes around 45 minutes to traverse. Popular among hikers and walkers alike, you can still find moments of tranquil...

Bro what! That rod holder for the Go Pro handle is insane lol I can't believe I never thought of that! Awesome right there!
What size did you end up going with and how tall are you ?
Handy
Just picked up my Roscoe 7 today.
Nice! Have fun!
Really 2.5lb is enough to keep you put?
It works for me. I mostly fish in shallow water. As long as the weight is on the ground it works. Sometimes ill chuck it over a down tree, rock, etc. and that works. It's not a fancy or fool proof solution, just cheap and easy lol. Thanks for watching!
This is so gorgeous! Thank you for posting!!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Thank you Colby! This is great information about filming when kayaking! Now I'm going to get set up so I can film soon.
Have fun!
a good pair of gloves can enhance your ride, and protect your hands. As a beginner your gunna take a few falls. natural to put your hands out to break the fall so ...great vid and personally you cant go wrong with the roscoe 7 especially if your fairly new to the sport. its a good solid mountain bike to learn and gain confidence on.
Bro put a Hohem Steadicam on that back pole, i can't believe how steady it is.
Those look awesome! ill have to consider getting one
@@colby_rogers <3 This was a good vidja, can't wait to see more.
I'm doing an overnight float from Trigger to 62 Bridge tomorrow. Love the Kings.
I just stumbled across your videos a week ago and man, they are wonderful. No music in the background, just nature. Love it! Keep it up!
Thanks for watching!
Where is the first one?
Compton Double Falls. The trail head is a few miles past the hawksbill crag parking lot
Jealous, i really wanted to float this stretch. The water was already too low when i floated Ponca to Kyles on a saturday, my energy level was waaaay to try to fight the river another day. Still got ,y fingers crossed but at this point probably looking at next year i think.
I feel that! I think you're probably right about next year.
Im from Arkansas and groundhogs are kinda rare there at least i never saw them very much but in Virginia where I'm at right now they are all over the place.
much better than watching a movie. it took me there.
3:35 “sketchyyyyyyy OOF” 😂😂
Ran Ponca to Kyles yesterday. It was too low, but i went for it. It was bumper boats, unfortunately. Gonna be obsessing over the gauges for the next few weeks, would love to get back out there with more water!
Sorry to hear it was too low It makes for a long day when you drag. I did a portion of the Kings River yesterday, and it was a paddle fest. Too low. That's pretty typical this time of year, unfortunately. I usually find spring fed rivers and fish the lakes during summer. I hope to get on the buffalo at least one more time this season. I will also be watching the guage!
@@colby_rogers I'm reading my comment this morning and i should have said "It was still worth it." Really great experience. I'll keep my eyes peeled for you this summer, hope to see you on the water!
Hey where do you park if you are self shuttling?
@@pdoggtheog To self shuttle... you have to drop a car at kyles landing . then drive to ponca low water bridge to put on. Kyles landing is a mad house on the weekends and parking can be really crazy. I suggest hitting it during weekdays or go really early in the morning. also, if you are camping on the river. you can't park at ponca low water bridge. you will have to put on at Steel Creek. They allow overnight parking
How experienced kayaking does one need to be for this river trip? I am experienced but some friends on mine want to do this. Thanks in advance 😊
It's not bad. I've taken someone who had never floated before and they did fine. Fairly easy, family-friendly float. Enjoy!
Question. How do you attach your gopro to your kayak? Want to start filming this year and will take any input.
This video shows how i film 90 percent of the time. Im glad you asked this! I will make a video and show the different methods i use to film! Thanks for watching! Ill get a better how to film kayaking video up soon! czcams.com/users/shortsyHjtX_kQiko?feature=share
I did this method it worked great! Went to Walmart bought a 10$ 5lb plate weight and I believe a 4 dollar spool of rope I tied the weight with a bowline knot cut a length of I’d say about 10 ft and tied a second bowline that I use a carabiner on. Dropped it in the water connected to the nose of the kayak and with our muddy bottom rivers it hold extremely well and I only drift back to gather tension on the the line. 10/10 method quick easy and cost me 15$ instead of the 30$ Walmart wanted for just a “kayak anchor” which didn’t even have a rope.
Nice! glad it worked out for you! I've been using this anchor for 3+ years now. Thanks for watching
I like how you just shoot the scenery and no music or any of that shit. I'm from Arkansas and grew up on the Buffalo an a bunch of othe killers spots in Arkansas . New subscriber
Awesome, im glad you like the "raw" format! I try to keep it as natrual as possible. Thank you for the sub!
Great video.!I am looking at picking up a Roscoe 7 too.I have been doing a lot of research.I have been out of mountain biking for abiut 15 years or so.Going to get back into it.Mostly will be doing light trail riding though. My butt is going to hurt.I remember that feeling!Your video makes me miss Arkansas so much.I have been out here in this Colorado mess for many years.
The Roscoe has been super fun for me! I also took a long break from mountain biking, about 13 years. I've been going twice a week for a month now, and I'm already in better shape, and my butt doesn't hurt anymore, lol. You will have a blast on the Roscoe! I wish I was closer to Colorado. I love biking and climbing there. I tried to move there a few years back, but the cost of living is just crazy high. I love being close to Arkansas. Not quite Colorado but it's definitely got its perks
That looked painful, are you okay?
Yup all good! Just sharing my struggles as a middle aged rookie to mountain biking haha
Ur going way to slow
Yeah I figured lol. I actually made it on my first attempt. I just didn't commit on this one
That was an awesome kayak trip man in your Crocs man. I like crocs i hear they are really really comfortable to wear for kayaking. The problem that I have with them is they are not wide enough for my feet 🦶. I have big very very Extremely wide feet sz15 6E wide ( which is very very extremely wide feet 🦶 ) with very very chubby fat wide toes that are Evenly straight across making my foot very very Extremely wide at 6 1/2 inches wide from my big toe to my lil toe. With footwear being made for toes that are at a 45° Degrees angle & my toes are Evenly straight across my 4/5 toes get crushed & hurt my toes really really bad so i can only wear open toes footwear like flip flops 🩴which barely and I mean barely fit on my feet 🦶 because my toes are wider than the flip flops 🩴 straps. One of my buddy said that i should get a Pair & cut a small Section out of the toes boxes area for my toes to hang out of the crocs comfortable. I am wondering if i should do that? Cuz I really do like crocs. I see a lot of people wearing them while kayaking. Your kayak trip was awesome & i would love to do that river with my family. Thanks you for sharing this video buddy.
Thanks for watching! I'd recommend giving Crocs a try. I think they might make slides? Or tevas have been good for me in the past. However, I don't suffer from the problem you describe, so I'm probably not much help, haha. Best of luck finding the right footwear to enjoy the river!
Absolutely beautiful! Be safe be blessed.
thanks!
nice
We had 3in hail in Western NC yesterday, alot of damage to property
o wow sorry to hear about the damage. we are lucky nothing is too damaged
Other than a dent or 10 and a chipped windshield I got lucky with smaller hail, friend of mine didn't get so lucky, it destroyed their house and cars, that was a mean storm.
@@nicke1903 sorry to hear about all that damage!
Hail hail hail all over the nation from the north to south even in Los Angeles area I think global cooling just the opposite of what there saying oh well
Get a new roof out of your home owners insurance and new siding too if it got damaged
luckily i have brick and a fairly new roof. hopefully I don't have to make any claims this time around!
Poor squirrels and farm cattle 😢
That is just a hohum hail storm.
How dinged up are you vehicles?
Definitely some marks. But it could be worse. Got lucky I'd say
@@colby_rogers that's good at least that it's not horrible. hopefully all is well.
One of the best floats on the piney
For sure!
Excellent video! Subscribed! What’s the best time of year to go on a multiple day kayak camping trip?
Thanks! I appreciate the support! Best time to float the buffalo is April - June. Any other time of the year the water levels are too low. The lower buffalo is floatable the majority of the year but I always recommend trying to hit the upper portion. So beautiful and worth it.
I think you made a good purchase, it's a great bike, not only for beginners but for all skill levels. Thru Axles, air fork, excellent frame, boost etc ect All these are markings of a serious mountain bike. Anybody who tells you otherwise is an elitist mtb snob. I have a Roscoe 9 but Roscoe 7 is also an excellent bike.
Thanks for watching! I appreciate the feedback. I am having a blast riding it. The best bike is the one that gets you on the trail!
@@colby_rogers Enjoy the new ride 👍👍
For sure.Whole lot of those elitist mtb snobs out here in Golden Colorado.I am getting the Roscoe 7 soon. They can all look down their noses at me.
@@rca3rd judging others based on their bank account is dumb. I try to just have fun spread positivity and be happy with what i have! Enjoy your roscoe!
@@colby_rogers Whatever guy. What a 'dumb' comment. It is based on their ATTITUDE!I don't know what they make or care.I will enjoy it thanks.
Great video. Welcome to the Roscoe family! Enjoy and be safe.
Thanks!
So smart I’m definitely doing this
thanks for watching!
I hope that River stays like that for you I'm from Florida and the rivers around me are inundated with tourists and new people that have moved here they've ruined everything
We will have to do this on our way to the Buffalo River. 😁
Do know what the river level or CFS was and where the reading was from closest to this stretch?
2.5 ft to 5 ft is ideal. Look up buffalo outdoor center. Their website will have a guage. Or "ponca low water bridge water level" .
What a great video! I lead people down rivers in MN, IA and WI, we don't have LONG slabs of rock like that under the water up north here. It was fun to read the water and what those riffles and rapids look like. This is definitely on my bucket list now. That color of water is insane! ❤️ Thank for taking time to post this.
Thanks for watching!
What part of mn ia and wi? I’m originally from the driftless region and moved down here to Arkansas 2 years ago. The Buffalo is nothing like any of the rivers up there with the big slab rocks and the scenery. I would say the closest up there would be the yellow river in Iowa.
I want to make it 1’day, camp at night, half a day trip on the buffalo, do you know any outfitters that will put you in closer than Ponca ?
Buffalo outdoor center has a variety of shuttles. I'm sure they would have a shuttle that fits your needs. You can put in and take out in a lot of different places. Ponca, steel creek, kyles, erbie, ozark, pruitt, hasty, carter, etc.... Just search the buffalo river map. You can download it from the BOC website.
Damn i must've just missed you😂 we hit it on a sat just a 3ft about a month ago
That is the best section of the buffalo that the outfitters cater to. But if you want serious white water, you need to float two sections above Ponca. You'll have to do your own shuttling, but it'll blow your mind. Not for beginners. You better have some experience under your belt. The river is tighter, much swifter and the scenery is just as good. National forest rd 1463 to hwy 21 in Boxley. Search youtube "buffalo river the hailstone"
Yeah, I've researched that. I would love to get on that. I don't have a white water boat. This is the most scenic and passes a high concentration of popular hiking destinations. Best stretch for the everyday person looking for a casual day on the water
The helis and planes were the Walmart Walton family, they bought the ranch last year.
Yeah, I've heard. HCR is forever a different thing. It's unfortunate to see. The whole region is changing fast
So epic! I was there at titanic! Glad you captured this moment for me and my friends to relive
Nice! Thanks for watching!
I have the same problem on an asrock x570 phantom gaming 4, the only thing I can think of is to disconnect fan 3 and everything is fine
Yup I think it's a fairly common problem for these boards. I'm still running my x570 and the fans been doing this for 3 years now. I just disabled it in bios. Too lazy to disconnect it lol
@@colby_rogers hahaha I was doing tests and the difference between having the fan on and off is only 4 °C more if you have it off, but you get great peace of mind without that noise, ASROCK I do not recommend it! , greetings !
