      Definitely not 80s. The clothes appear to be late 90s. Nothing passed 2003 if you ask me

    Um, I'm sorry, that lady is a TOTAL bitch! She didn't like the wine and the silverware was dirty, okay, those things happen, I get being upset about it, but you want the '92 cabernet "right now"?! And then she has the nerve to ask for all those substitutions with her dinner and "won't take no for an answer" about it being served within FIFTEEN MINUTES because she's in a HURRY?! Don't go to a sit down dinner, then, if you're in a hurry!! She just seemed determined to make the waitstaff miserable. I can't stand when people act like they're so damned important and better than everybody else, especially people who are serving them. That lady's an entitled asshole!

    1st prob: Get the brother a fridge fill it with beer add a blunt or two...and get the hotel some help! 2nd prob: Ask the dude what WTF does he want now? say "Yes Sir" and then just walk way quickly as if to take care of it, check out for the day, take his car to the beach... 3rd: Ask her last time she got any? tell her to get a life and to leave now because bitchy energy vampires are not allowed in the restaurant... 4th: The substitutions aren't a problem, toss a bunch of returned leftover foods on her dish in an artful manner, serve with a smile! 5th: Admit the charges are preposterous greedy ripoff attempt and forgive the whole bill...

    I'm not partial of the shorts especially since most hotels in warmer zones are air-conditioned. Plus their name tags are on the wrong side. And the bell man with the glasses does not have a t-shirt on.His shirt dips down uncomfortably low. Plus the gold chain is too much about him.

    Here's the best advice you will get: Choose another career path! I chose Hotel Management as my major and it was the biggest mistake of my life. It wasn't until my last semester until my teacher, who I had multiple times before in previous classes, said that it takes TEN years for someone to get promoted to a first line manager and then ANOTHER ten years till you get promoted to a decent job such as GM. Not only that but my school never told me that the vast majority of hotels are actually ran by management companies. Unless these aren't a top of the line, huge hotel, of which a big city will probably have like five of, these hotels will be bought and sold every two years or so. The new owners will have their own management company, who will hire their own GM. The new GM will bring his own director of sales and perhaps a few other managers. This makes it difficult to get promoted and turnover VERY prevalent. When you get laid off you have to find work in another state. Furthermore, your education is WORTHLESS. It would have been much more beneficial to work the four years instead of obtaining the four year degree. You obtain no skill from college. Plus, there are a number of other factors that I knew before getting into the industry but still took its turn on me after awhile: Pay is terrible for entry level employees and first line managers. Working nights and 99% of weekends in my case. It was very rare that I got either Saturday or Sunday off but there was a few exceptions and I note one below. Get used to working 3-11PM one night and 7AM - 3PM the next day. It is not uncommon to get called into work on your days off when people call off. Forget about holidays off. In my year and a half working in the industry, I worked two Christmases, two Thanksgivings, two New Year's Eve, and two New Year's day during my tenure. To be fair, I did get one Easter off. Not having two consecutive days off was the norm for me. Customers abuse you. Getting yelled at was anything but uncommon. If customers don't like you, they can report their experience on travel sites. This didn't happen to me but it did to a couple of my coworkers. Customers make up complaints, usually in an attempt to get free stuff, and play you like a fool.

      totally agree. let me add something to your comment, "NEVER GO TO WORK TO A CRUISE SHIP" it is 500x worse. 13 hrs per day, no day off, you work from the very beginning to the last day, no holidays, the schedule is crazy, 3 hrs now, 2 hrs later, 5 hrs on and on.. so you will be lucky if you can rest 6 straight hours.

    • @big_dro1713
      @big_dro1713 Před 8 lety

      Abrihan Fernandez That sounds horrible. What did the employees do on their time off while they were on the ship? Anything for fun?

    • @abrihanfernandez
      @abrihanfernandez Před 8 lety

      +BigD there's a crewbar where you can buy beers for 1 dollar you name it Heineken, bud, corona all for 1 dollar, whisky, vodka for less than 15 dollars. to give you an idea every night is Friday and every morning is Monday. if you have a good schedule you can visit great places like Rome, (the Vatican city), St. pet in Russia.. go to museums. but if you have a schedule like I used to have, you'll only get 4 hours to visit those historical places or ask for permission every time and of course they won't give you permission every day, some time you can spend a full week without stepping out of the ship.. so that's the only positive thing about cruise ship being in places that you only dreamed of.

    • @big_dro1713
      @big_dro1713 Před 8 lety

      Abrihan Fernandez I'm sorry to hear how poorly the employees were treated. Did you ever get a full nights sleep on the ship?

    • @abrihanfernandez
      @abrihanfernandez Před 8 lety

      +BigD full night?? no man I usually worked until 2 a.m. and there was at least 3 to 4 days P/week that I have to be back on duty at 6 or 8 a.m. I won't lie to you. if you have dancing or musician skills that's a great position to be on a cruise company. you have 3 days off.. or if you work for the Casino every day that the cruise is Docked they don't work.. but you know, on sea days. they can work up to 14/15 hours. same with the stores. about the salary it could be anything from 650 per month to 3000 dollars IF you are a waiter. and you are working for tips... management position is something totally different. but let's say you are a Guest Relations officer you will probably earn between 1200 to 2000 dollars p month it could vary on the stripes you've got

  • @JeanBaptisteEmanuelZorg

    1st prob: apologise + upgrade to the better room with the fridge + in bad case - add a plate of fruits or a glass of wine 2nd prob: apologise + immediatelly call a taxi 3rd: apologise + call the f&b manager + in the meantime make suitable preparations + in the worst case - offer this lunch/dinner for free 4th: that isn't a problem, I woud do nothing 5th: if everytime she checks in the hotel and everytime everything's ok but now she plays dumb (feeling the charges for internet are not necesary" O_o), offer an apology and immediately call a manager

    4:45 He should hand the key card into the guest’s hands not just put it on the counter! I would get the fridge myself, same with the car, ask the lady and the gentleman to another table and give her a glass of wine on the house. Plus get her order in and go to the kitchen to make sure that is done the first. Laptop charges might be internet charges and has nothing to do with phone charges. You could take off the charges, ask a manager. These things are cheaper than getting new Guests.

    this stuff seems basic, but you'd be surprised how unmotivated people become without training and coaching, I worked at barnes and Noble which is obviously going out of business and the lack of interest in team work and some of these basic things was ridiculous.
