So… coming back to mention this cause why not… I just recently played Pokémon Crystal for the virtual console… I'd slogged through a LOT of stuff in one play session, to the point I don't remember when I'd last saved… I go to Tin Tower, and, as this is my first time playing Crystal in general and other games (read, literally any game from Gen 3 to 9 at the least) let you save IN FRONT of legendaries… I thought, depending on what attacked me, if anything did, I could just save in front of it… meaning I didn't save outside Tin Tower… and, as a reminder, it was a long play session… I was focusing on other things OUTSIDE of the game on top of it… I could've saved 3 hours prior or not saved at all that entire session prior to this… and all I had on me were great balls and a couple PokéBalls… I had no idea Suicune attacked without me being able to save… and I didn't realize how freaking hard it is to catch… I, stupidly, decided I'll just white out and go back once I'm fully healed, saving AFTER THAT in front of the Tin Tower… I screwed myself outta getting Suicune, and more importantly… Ho-Oh. They're all available to get outside of the virtual console, so I don't necessarily care… the only important thing to me now is getting the Celebi. It's just the fact that I lost track of a lot of stuff, and I thought if they kept one mechanic throughout the whole series, it was saving directly in front of Overworld legendaries BEFORE initiating the battle.

I like all of the Gen 5 Starters, but I gotta hand it to my boy, Snivy. Fast, pretty bulky, Coil ups attack and defense and patches up accuracy meaning moves like Iron Tail will always hit. Leech Seed and Synthesis for healing, and of course Leaf Blade for a powerful STAB move with a high critical hit chance. Adamant nature, grind up 252 EVs in Attack and HP (really easy to do since Lilipup and Patrat give Attack EV and Audino gives HP EV), Leaf Blade, Coil, Leech Seed or Synthesis, and a coverage move of your choice makes Serperior pretty beastly.
