how did you compose the list? was it listening journal or records you own?
I listened religiously to rock and roll from the late 70s up until around 1990, becoming an expert on the history of rock and roll from its inception up until around that point. I listened to lots of top 500 countdowns as well as AT40 by Casey Casem almost every week for nearly 10 years, so I also have a good idea of the rankings of rock songs by popularity. Otherwise, I just made up my list on my own, based on this rough ranking in my head as well as a bit of personal bias. As I've mentioned to others, my list isn't set in stone, but I still think it's pretty good and I hope you enjoy my countdown. You can always leave comments if you disagree with some of my rankings.

Sorry, but I'm not really familiar with Odyssey, but I do like this song and I'm sure many of their other ones are also great, so I'll check them out.
Thank you for your series, It's hard to acquire knew earworms if you don't have a proper paradigm, and live ouside the culture. I used to orient myself by Rolling Stone magazine, John Peel, Wikipedia and random 45s. But you still need some outsider recommendation on song seeking, otherwise you get thrown in a loop. And I don't trust internet algorhythms to do it. I'll definetly keep on following that.
