Nigori Colada - Japanese Sake Cocktail Recipe
A creamy and delicious cloudy sake cocktail recipe.
Nigori Colada
2.25 oz nigori sake
0.75 oz pineapple juice
0.75 oz coconut milk
0.5 oz honey syrup (2:1)
0.5 oz fresh lime juice
Optional 1 oz rum
Combine all ingredients in a tin, add ice, and hard shake. Strain into a hurricane or other oversized glass filled with crushed ice.
Garnish with pineapple, lime, and/or a cocktail cherry.
Here I used Hakutsuru "Sayuri" Junmai Nigori. It's widely available and a good value. There's a decent range of cloudy sake flavor profiles, and they'll all work.

How to Make Sake Simple Syrup
zhlédnutí 301Před 2 lety
This video is made for adults above the legal drinking age. Sake simple syrup is one of my favorite ingredients behind the bar. It's easy to make, infinitely customizable, and adds a Japanese twist to many classic cocktails. A 1:1 ratio of sake to sugar is common. After mixing the two ingredients, store them in the refrigerator. Depending on the sake you use and the amount of sugar, this will h...
Engawa Sushi

I quick clip of engawa nigiri from an omakase. Engawa is the fin muscle of a flatfish. It has a very crunchy texture. Very little engawa can be sourced from a given hirame. So it's rarely seen on the menu. This piece of engawa was sliced to make it easier to eat. It was also topped with momiji and scalliion. Chef Taichi Kitamura also brushed on a bit of nikiri sauce. Check out my guide to hiram...

A quick clip of kanpachi belly nigiri sushi. Kanpachi, or greater amberjack, is a close cousin of hamachi. This fatty fish still has a firm texture and a mild flavor. Dewazakura Oka Ginjo

Dewazakura Oka is one of the most iconic sake of all time. Before Oka, fruity sake was generally competition only. Dewazakura Oka has remained one of the best selling sake brands since its release in the 1980s.
Love this idea, was also thinking, maybe bringing some nigori sake (since it still contains rice residue and more of its natural sweetness) to a simmer for a long time to evaporate the alcohol, then adding some water and sugar
Recipe?
