True, but the Rus were a mix of Scandinavian Vikings who came to help rule and settle there and the Slavic people who were already settled there. The comparison's not 100% accurate, but it's also not 100% BS (And I thought it was funny lol)

Thanks! I mostly just used whatever was available to me since my plan was to rely on auto resolve. Lot's of casualties, but also meant that they could be replaced with whatever as well. If you're going to be fighting these in person, I recommend 50% archers or more (doesn't really matter which kind, they can all do well) and the rest a mix of shielded infantry and tier 6 cavalry. You can go 50% cav and 0% infantry or 0% cav and 50% infantry. The goal of the non-archers is to keep the enemy off the archers and let them clean everyone up :)

No cheats and it was on Bannerlord difficulty. If you've seen any of my Bannerlord videos or livestreams on the guides channel that I run, you'll know this is actually a pretty easy challenge run. The next video I'm editing right now is the solo-person world conquest where I took over the whole map with a single unit, no army. I also did about 40% of that campaign live, so you can verify that there were no cheats and indeed it was on the hardest difficulty (Bannerlord). Just FYI I've got a whole channel of guides dedicated to Bannerlord and over 5000 hours into the game. I literally know the game inside and out, which has allowed me to do tough challenge runs. ​@@Strat-Gaming Maybe it's a skill issue on my part, but when I tried something similar, my character kept missing every single shot due to the insane shot spread, on top of that almost every archer in an enemy village could easily take me down in 4 or less hits, and the Empire villages made it hard to dodge, worse part is the shielded enemies always kept their shields up unless they where kilometers away from me. Again maybe it's a skill issue or maybe the devs changed the AI and gave them aim bot or something. Also I'm a huge fan of your main channel's guides, especially your John Wick Armoury video.

Yeah this game can be pretty brutal until you get past the steep learning curve! I think having the database made a huge difference as well. Thanks for watching!

Thanks for watching! I'm able to win large field battles mostly due to archers and positioning. For sieges on defense, it's actually trivial to win while massively outnumbered because the game gives the defender a HUGE advantage. I've had 10:1 ratio wins before in siege defense, but you have to wait until they start the assault before you break in or they'll back off. Hopefully that helps!

Everyone enjoys them differently. The best analogy I can think of is eat spicy food. Some people don't understand why others enjoy it. Personally I love to eat very spicy food and enjoy the suffering (not exactly sure why lol)

Lol I know what you mean, but it is a basic mechanic of the game :) If it wasn't meant to be used at all, they would have removed it by now

I didn't get a chance to run that one just yet, but it's going to be the next Bannerlord challenge run that I do. It's going to be war with every faction on the map from day 1, peasant units only (I'll have to get a mod that stops the clan party members from upgrading their units, they are only allowed peasants as well), and a few other rules. It should be a pretty nutty challenge run!

It's just a generic violin clip from a website I use to get assets for videos. I don't think it's used for anything :( It's pretty good though! I've got perks and quiver combo that take me above 100 from the start :) I can also pick up dead archer's quivers off the floor, both friendly and enemy to restock

You have to own specific counties to be able to do that, which would have forced me to fight many big wars for 1-2 counties at a time and I didn't think it was worth it. In hindsight, maybe it would have been... but I felt like my time was better spent fighting for full kingdoms at a time.

Yeah a recent patch made horse archery at lower levels much harder, but at higher levels it's the same.

Was there also a patch making militia more of a suitable enemy, tried doing this run and the sheilded enemies kept up the shield until literally within 3 feet of me.​@@Strat-Gaming
