    I had a hell of a time getting the caliber off. Mine did not just pop off like that. I thought this was going to be a quick break job but way more complicated than I originally thought. Would Napa have those rubber boots? I'd also like to find new hardware like the bushing because they look so corroded.

Now I can't get it back up. That's the only window it effects, the driver side. 🤷 It must have a different part ( motor) then others, if I explained that right.

    Many people have mentioned in other videos tips: use plastic ties to keep your area clear so you don’t have things dangling, put a washer where the bolts are apparently this keeps it from leaking, change spark plugs since your there even if it’s not needed to avoid the dismantling once again. Then again I’m not mechanically inclined lol I’ve been watching this bc I’m looking to buy a 2008 and it appears it’s common? Nice video great explanation.

    Tires balenced many times, road force too. ball joints and alignment. 116k rims were replaced after i hit a pot hole on the left side pretty hard enough to knock the dust cover off the strut. Cover replaced and both struts were replaced after, and the bearings). I also had to get new tires (good beers) had 5/32" and a bubble devolped after 1 hour on the left front. I had regular tires not the run flats! Tires shop never said rim was bent, a mechanic did and showed me on the blaencer. That's all done, control arms replaced in 2021 dut to a tear under extended warranty but before the pot hole. I replaced the bearings, and recently the stabilzer links. The rubber was shot. I have play in the steering wheel in a parking spot, and a vibration at 65-75 mph. tires now 8/32" 2015 awd model. It also squaeks when you turn (tie rod ends?) The electronic steering rack was also repaced due to a noise (ting sound) under extended warranty. The tie rods are original. AWD works fine, when needed and the rear carrier diff bearing was replaced under extended warranty. I asked if the control arm was ok they said fine at the stealership. Water pump finaly went. The easy cv axle was also replaced, it was clicking. Any thoughts? I'm looking to fix this problem as i love the 6 cylinder and the six speed tranny.

    Thus is a dumb question, I'm sure. But I have a 2008 ridgeline and the fan on the driver side is making crazy racket when I turn my AC on and when I cut it off the fan goes off. Which fan would that be? Is that the fan for the radiator?

    • @CharlesAndCars
      @CharlesAndCars Před 22 dny

      I believe the driver's side fan is listed as radiator cooling fan and passenger is listed as AC cooling fan. Sounds like the bearing may be going on the fan and making noise. See if the fan blades (disconnect the fan first so it can't come on) are "wobbling"... not necessarily has to be wobbiling for the bearing in the fan to be bad, but if it is that's an easy call,.

    Thank you so much for this! This gave me the confidence to attempt this on my 2001 LeSabre. The additional size of the Park Avenue worked in your favor, and my LeSabre had the wiper fluid bottle as an additional minor nuisance, but I was able to do mine in the car as well. I need a better puller and better snap ring pliers, but I got it done. I did not need to back off the pulley; I suspect you didn't get the coil perfectly bottomed. I was able to fully seat the pulley and engagement plate and have appropriate clearances everywhere. I used the trick someone pointed out in the comments of turning the old bearing's inner race into an installation tool. Thank you for taking the time to show the rest of us how these come apart.
