It was a great day at Hollywood Park. She knew exactly where the wire was. St. Trinians ultra game. Never forget that day. I was there for this one and her Clement Hirsh at Del Mar where she also won by a hair. Enough to stop your heart.

I watch these races of hers from time to time, and while I know she’s going to win them, I still somehow get knotted inside with worry when she’s so far behind halfway through the race.

Those fractions were pretty slow.

TamTam is such a cute name! All horses are precious pls dont eat them.

Still impressed with Ginger Punch, she was old and on the end of a great career when Zenyatta was lucky enough to race her. Ginger was a great horse.

It grieves me to see this race 😢but all is fair in love and in war. It is what it is . All good things must come to an end. Zenyatta & Secretariat are the legends etched in my mind for thoroughbred racing .

Had all the stars aligned, she could have won three Breeders Cup Classics. On her ninth race, instead of running in the Ladies Classic, I think she was good enough to beat the boys in the Classic. And in 2010, with better foresight (For a horse that's always at the back of the pack, her camp didn't expect dirt on her face?) and planning (run her outside throughout the race to avoid dirt and traffic). She'd probably beat Blame.

Going to Breeders Cup with eight straight wins, she should have been entered in the Classic instead, which she could have won.

And you expected her to win every race she ran? She's not perfect. She's just human.

Fun Fact, Zenyatta beat these filly's without any workouts before the race. She hated Del Mar's track and refused to gallop on it. John said shed lope around for about a half mile and then shoot the gap right back to the barn...lol

I don’t know why, but I always get teary-eyed when she shifts gears at the end.

Honestly Mike Smith rode her poorly every time. He was lucky that pace makers was not in most of her races he would of caused her to lose more. That's why Blame beat her.

Truly historic performance by one of horse racing’s greatest mares ..She picked off the Derby winner ,Belmont winner ,Arlington Million 2008 Classic winner etc..

I don't think people fully appreciate just how hard it is to do what this horse did. MAYBE another horse will win nineteen straight races again, but none will do it the way Zenyatta did. There's Zenyatta, and then there are racehorses.

Might as well pin Zenyatta to the opposite rail the entire race. She'll still win.

I love how she just looks around at the end as if to say "What? That was it? That was the whole race? Let's go again!"

Look at her pedigree, Mr Prospector, Native Dancer, NASHUA!!, Princequillo!! Nasrullah!! She stood 17 hands! If we had a time machine, and could breed her to the other greats like Secretariat or Man O War, what a fantastical creature we could get! But genetics isn't that straightforward is it, as we know, enes can be a hit or miss thin...but when it hits!!!
