It’s like they’ve never taken a history class. They don’t know how dangerous it was to live as a Viking. They really think it’s insane to have to fight for your life or try to save if someone else’s at risk of your own.

They don’t understand what requires a good strong bond with a dragon. It took them two seconds to bond with their dragon and that’s why they’re not prepared to die for their dragon. A real bond needs to take 10 minutes of going through that trust exercise and you’re never allowed to look at your dragon during the bond, you must let the dragon come to you.

During the Viking age bonds were so powerful that you had to go through a whole trust exercise just to do it and you couldn’t even look at the dragon while you were bonding. After you had bonded you were willing to die for each other but the bonds they have now are so pathetic
