Simple fix for 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee cruise control switch

This is how I fixed the cruise control switch on my 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The on/off button on the switch has been getting a bit hit and miss with activating cruise control and finally stopped working altogether.

My DMM has been giving intermittent problems recently, so I thought I might take a look inside to see if I could notice anything obvious. The contacts of the selector switch were a bit grubby, so after a good clean with acetone everything is back to normal. Problem BUSTED

Good morning and thank you for this valuable information and I have a question please exists on this . _( How many turns are in the grand mono coil _18 inch _ and wire diameter user (gpx 5000) _and how it is linked the wires in numbers? ...my respects
I tried this and it worked for about a minute, apparently it just resets the cruise control computer and works for about a minute and then goes back to no turning on

Curise control not turning on? Try beeping the horn. Works every time for my 2013 Wrangler. New electronics are such fun.

Thank you. Cruise was not turning on and cleaned like you showed and it worked. Very easy fix.
I have a yellow alarm saying "FCW OFF" for some reason but im not sure its the same issue of yours.

Pencil eraser is also great for cleaning contacts if you don't have any contact cleaner. Just be sure to blow it outa little if any rubber comes off.
I just fixed the cruise control on my 2012 GC by following this video. Seems to be working fine now. Thanks for putting it up. The only problem I had was disconnecting the air bag leads. I hadn't seen this type of termination before, but I looked it up on another youtube video and I was on my way.
Nice video - I ran into the same problem with my 2011 GC and your video showed how big of a job I was getting into. Took my time and finished in one hour - and so far so good.

What does this fix? What was issue to begin with?
Nice work. What coil is that you are using and what are its specs, 300/350uH? what R (ohms)?. It looks like a fairly large coil. How far was your nugget from the coil surface in the air test?, it is kind of hard to tell from the angle. I get about 5 inches with a 1.2 gram nugget and right about 3 inches on a .45 gram (8 grain) nugget with my 7-1/2in litz wound 3dss coil. Thanks for posting the vid, nice to see someone do a step by step vid with scope shots.
Hi glad you enjoyed it. Coil is Nugget Finder 14x9 litz wound about 340uH and 0.4 ohms. Depth would have been around 4-5" from memory. Nugget would be 1-2 gms sponge type in quartz.
