@Archades Games I just bought the de-lidding tool. But, some people are saying that only 90nm and 65nm RSX chips can be de-lidded. The other 40nm chips are not possible to delid without ruining the board. (It could be bad info. I'm not sure.)

i hate that i can't buy the Memcard pro GC right now because i want that memory card to use with the Tony Hawk games on GameCube because the third party memory cards i have doesn't play nice with the Tony Hawk games on GameCube

Oh boy this thing....Let me warn you on this, don't ever run DS Aging rom on this cart. It will brick it! (or any debug/official SDK stuff that isn't a normal retail game this cart wouldn't have save patches for. This can happen even on latest kernel update!) Also, if you are on older firmware pre 1.06 there is a Casper game they messed up a save patch to which resulted in the game being allowed to write to the card's "save" chip so there's also that which is how I discovered the major flaw with this card while trying to unbrick someone's card from that game. :P Funny fail they did with this card. For some reason the eeprom chip they use to store the primary rom the cart shows to the console (that Japanese game it spoofs) isn't isolated from standard save read/write commands! If a game is ever allowed to write a save to the cart instead of the MicroSD it would end up overwriting the data containing the spoof game it uses to boot and would basically be bricked! I was able to unbrick one of these things with a modified save dump/write tool (NDS Backup Tool specifically. Source code to that became available recently and I recompiled it on modern libnds). Though if you ever run 1.06 firmware on it, it seems to lock part of the flash so only the later half of it remains writable which doesn't even prevent bricking and just makes unbricking them harder and requiring external hardware like a IC test clamp and SPI read/write tools. Not sure why they attempted that...Maybe botched attempt at locking the save chip down but they failed because it's still possible to brick it should someone run any homebrew that does save dump/writing or any non retail official SDK roms like debug/dev test roms/unreleased games/SDK based homebrew games. (like Super Mario Galaxy DS though I don't think that one does any save read/writing...don't know though. Best to not attempt playing that one!) This card is just a clown show of fails down to the bad DLDI randomly corrupting filesystem and the half baked FPGA coding allowing standard save commands to overwrite important data on the eeprom chip. :P They even stole the hbmenu bootstrap program from devkitpro repo and thus far violating GPL because they still haven't open sourced the kernel/bootloader like they promised they would. It's found inside the spoof game they used and I noticed it immediately when looking at it in a hex editor. The shell design is cool (and I do agree, I really wish modern flashcards had the fully molded pin seperators) and about the only good thing going for this card...if not for the poor build quaility. Appearently the tolarances on the shell size is bad so some of them don't even make proper contact with the pins in the slot of some DS consoles like the DSi XL. Maybe they ironed out that issue as I've heard less reports of that. maybe only the early batches had tolerance issues.

everytime I try to update to the EXfat_Installer.elf it just boots me back to the FreeMcBoot screen.

Are you letting the RT4K output be 4k? Or are you using 1440p, which is a natural integer scale of 480p? Do you even have to worry about toggling the 'force 480 i to 480 p' in Swiss, as the Retrotink takes care of this anyway AFAIK? What settings do you recommend if you are not running Swiss? Start with Basic and go from there? There are a boggling amount of options and settings!

I recently got my PAL slim ps2 setup again. Im using the xplorer v2 disc to boot the game in NTSC mode and had the same issue with the screen being partially cut off at the bottom. Some games allow you to adjust the screen position but it is usually not enough to get the whole image. Any idea how to solve this? I'm using the bitfunx ps2 to hdmi but I don't think that is the issue? Its a cheaper solution but the same problem comes up with more expensive upscalers too is that right?

Just a tip for those of you who plan on adding a lot of games, You will have to create a few folders within each emulator folder(NDS, GBC, GBA) for every 39 games you add. The Nintendo system only reads the first 39 items in a folder and does not automatically add the remaining items into new folders.

Hello when i go to parental directories i get the letters for the drives come up but as soon as i select the correct one it kicks me out of retro arch over and over again. Can someone help please?

The problem for younger me with auto scrolling levels in many 2d platformers back then was they lacked a "visual" reason to scroll, so even if it was honestly just meant to challenge the player, it felt cheap like artificially tacked on difficulty vs an organic experience born out of the environment and the enemies within it. Some games did get it right. Something as simple as, say an avalanche or lava flow rushing behind the player character, makes a world of difference in the perception of auto scrolling sections imo. Plus, I hated shmups, so there might have been a little bias on my part, being against forced movement 😆

I definitely have the exact file names in the .txt before saving as .m3u; Policenauts (Disc 1).chd Policenauts (Disc 2).chd Policenauts (Disc 3).chd Can you think of any user error reason for the above? I absolutely followed each step of the tutorial.
