Chadanyi Festival, Jotsoma village
For the people of Jotsoma, Chadanyi is observed every year on the second Saturday of August. The festival is practiced since their forefather days and it is held right after the paddy plantation. During the festival, people clean the neighborhoods and surroundings. They also clear the roads and the pathways to the fields to get rid of weeds and bushes. It is believed that less sickness arises after this event. The villagers still carry on the good traditions of their forefathers till date.
