    I gamed the 921 Forged from late 2020 until early 2024. Went with the 923 Forged afterwards, and I absolutely love them. I’m around a 12 handicap but I hit these clubs well. They also feel incredible despite the different materials and micro slots in the longer irons. The slotted longer irons are a bit faster or springier off the face but still feel excellent.

    Imo forgiveness is in sole width. A wider sole DOES NOT suit every delivery type. And your average person will have a better chance of moving strike up the face, were it belongs, while using a narrow sole.

    Just tipped 1/2” a stiff Velocore + on a 4 wood, and it’s quickly become one of my favorite clubs. 104 driver ss and have played x for 20+ years, but I’ve found myself wanting more feel, which the stiff shaft has provided. The 1/2” tipping keeps spin and dispersion under control

    No one ever does an exact comparison. Hitting a 3 wood with the same exact loft would be much closer. I no longer use a driver but instead use a cobra 3 wood set at 12.5 degrees and it's straight both off the tee and off the deck. Driver is not worth 15 yards because it's usually the wrong 15 yards.

    Just got my Motore X in the mail, matched the exact specs in this video. Extremely whippy, easy to control the shape of the shot tho. I can tell there is a ton of energy being transferred to the ball because even the mishits were penetrating. I'll admit with range balls they overspin and with the balls what have almost no dimples the will apex and nosedive hard. I've got to see what this does with my gamer ball. Im pretty sure it's a winner.

    I recently put graphite shafts in my irons. I made them 1/2” longer than with the steel shafts. I wanted to try a new iron head so I bought a 7 iron head. When I put it on the shaft that my other 7 was on I noticed it was 1/2” shorter. The hosel on the new iron was 1/4” shorter and 1/4” deeper. If I buy all the new irons should I add extensions or soft step them ?

    • @nickpritchard7130
      @nickpritchard7130 Před měsícem

      I would soft step them as this is easier than adding length to each iron.Adding length also puts more weight in the handle and makes the heads lighter, so weight will have to be added to the heads..Soft stepping half inch will equal 1/3 softer flex, which is not very noticeable.I have tried and tested this method with graphite stiff recoil shaft $$$. Using a 7 iron length shaft put into 7,8 and finally 9 iron. Soft stepped it twice.Much better feel, control and shape over my shots..Buy yourself some lead tape, shims, ferrules, etc, they will come in handy..Good luck.

    Surely having higher lofts might make an iron easier to hit same as with a driver. In terms of easy to hitting club is the 24 degree 38 inch rule as described by Tom Wishon.

    your vidoes are confusing. 1 video you say weight is more important than flex, another video you say weight has no impact on swing speed, and this one you say lighter weight is beneficial. SMDH Starting to think I cant take you seriously.

    I’m 56 and had been playing stiff shafts on the 60g range. My swing speed is around 85mph. I recently switched all my shafts to lighter Reg and SR shafts and my slice went away and am averaging 20 strokes less. 😃 I was playing the wrong heavier shafts all these years. I changed to Mitsubishi Chemical Vanquish shafts, lightweight and awesome.

    I’ve never understood the “stiffer flex is better,” theory. Idk how current hockey is but I know years ago you wanted a stick with more flex and all the guys who shot 100mph used really whippy twigs. I thought the same would apply in golf.

    I play an old wilson set of irons from the late 70s. I have no problem with hitting my 8-iron from 100-110 yards out while I would have played the PW from my modern set at the same distance as both have identical lofts. If it means swinging easy and getting up and down, I can hang my ego up.

    Well that answers that question. Need something in between my 10.5 degree driver and 18 degree hybrid. Was tossing up between a mini driver and a 3 wood. The mini driver would get used at most twice off the tee at my home club, hitting off the deck on par 5’s is far more important and a 3 wood that can do both seems a much better option
