    If the person guarding the inbounds passer stays guarding the lane they prevent all layups

      Raptors didn't run this Box in 1 zone until the 4th quarter. And they held Steph Curry scoreless in the 4th and the Warriors couldn't score for last 5 minutes until Iguodala hit that 3

    Why do so many 3-2 Zones videos really show you a widened 1-2-2. The MIddle player in the top of the 3 is absolutely defending the PAINT not so much the perimeter. He should be a long player with good quickness so that he can sag into the lane and only has to get a decent closeout on the top of the key to be effective. He should be covering all the way to the LOW BLOCK when needed. His basic area is the Triangle formed by (at about the Free Trow Line) and the 2 Post Players. The point of the Defense is to cover the Wing and Corner with Quick Perimeter Players so that you can keep your Bigs no more than 2 steps away from the Boards with a 3rd player (Center Defender or Weakside Guard) in a good position to crash the boards. Force the ball OUT of the Paint, get a challenge shot attempt and rebound limiting the Offense to 1 bad shot per possession. Watch the South Korean 3-2 Zone video for an example. They run it the REAL way a 3-2 Zone is run. This is just a variation on the 1-2-2 Zone. A defense that itself cannot work above MIddle School or Low-level High School Girls Basketball. No College or Pro team or Good HS team would ever run a 1-2-2 EXCEPT when you make these adjustments to it. But this is STILL a 1-2-2 because the Point and Wings do not defend at the same level. In a real 3-2 they defend at the same level except when on a close out and this make defending the lane easier to do.

    What do you do if they dribble enter to the wing?? (pg dribbles to the wing and pushes wing to corner)

    • @BasketballwikiNetWorldwide
      @BasketballwikiNetWorldwide Před 8 lety

      This is a situation where the wing defender needs to defend at the ball. Top defender defends the strong elbow/high post. We protect the paint at the expense of being in the passing lanes. Strong side block fronts any post entry. Weak block on basket line to help with a lob. Weak side wing slight drop towards paint/basket line. Lots of teams will try to overload one side that way!

    So can 100 shots a day drastically improve your muscle memory?

    • @BasketballwikiNetWorldwide
      @BasketballwikiNetWorldwide Před 9 lety

      Absolutely, this drill focuses on attacking a closing out defender. In some cases you may be able to get to the rim, in others you must recognize quickly that help defense has stepped up. This drill works on the muscle memory of pulling up off that first dribble for the mid range jumper. The more game situation type shooting you can get in, the better!
