How to make Sarah Monier-Williams' Wise Pheasant Pastillas

"I first tasted pastilla as a young teenager in Morocco on a rooftop looking up at the stars. This meal, to be shared with exotic strangers, was supposed to be the perfect end to an adventurous day exploring the Berber heartland of Tafraout with my parents. By nightfall my stomach was rather unsettled, especially considering how my father had been offered 100 camels earlier in the day in exchan...

These spiced venison and fruit parcels look great, and you can also jazz them up by tying chives around them or scattering them with chilli flakes, depending on the audience. Stress-tested on Mr M-W’s office team, they apparently go remarkably well with a glass of Grüner Veltliner or a light, apple-y Prosecco. You’re not very experienced making this are you! A couple of tips from an old timer: 1. Use less sugar. Probably about half of what you used 2. You really don’t need to use a mid range whisky, that is such a waste! Use cheap stuff. Even the cheapest scotch is aged for 3 years 3. Don’t overfill your kilner jar 4. Keep the berries in the jar for at least 6 months. A full year is ideal 5. Once bottled - let it age! It will be delicious after infusing for a year, but you want to give it a further year once bottled (if you can). I have drunk 10 year old stuff and it was incredible! You need to be patient. Leave it as long as you can. Make a big batch each year and keep a bottle or two for long term maturing!

*I love everything about this air rifle>>>**t.co/KSGrkkWU80** The price for the power is not possible, trust me I've looked. I needed something for killing possums in my neighborhood after I bent the barrel of my last pellet rifle. That was an Umarex 1250 feet per second also but I couldn't find a deal as good until this one. I had no trouble with the scope.. it is very precise once you get it adjusted.*
