Why 4 valves? Quarter tone or sth else? Anyone knows? Uff nice playing!
The fourth valve allows him to play lower, down to at least Csharp (or maybe C). Sort of like an f attachment for trombone. This is his own model of lotus trumpet, and with his often wide-ranged soloing, he uses the low parts fairly often.
@@charliecampbell6851 In this performance Adam is playing his gold plated four valve P3-4 TANTRA made for him by David Monette. According to Adam in his CZcams video demonstrating the horn, he can play a G below double Low-C on it. The Rapa 4-valve Lotus Trumpet only has 3 pistons and a rotary for t he 4th valve. There are pictures of it on the Lotus Trumpet web site.
Amazing how he can play so passionately without closing his eyes for extended periods of time!
The syncopation makes this worth every cent!
I watch clips of him playing with the Lotus trumpet and then I watch this clip of him playing with this Tantra Monette trumpet I'll tell you this Monette looks like it's a lot easier to play than the lotus
Maybe a bit, but I have to say I enjoy his sound a bit more on Lotus. His more recent videos of him with the corno brass ensemble, for example. Perhaps his technique has faltered a bit more recently as well.

How do you do that glissando at the start?
TuxeDoge YT practice lipbends! I’m playing out of Andy Tichenor’s book, “Trumpet Mania” and he has a lot of exercises for lip bends, it’s part of my warmup everyday. Try bending down from G to F# without putting any valves down, practice this until you can bend to F, then E... so on. Glissandos become very elementary when you practice this. It also helps with control and intonation!

It appears that high register trumpet playing has a lot to do with the coordinated raising of the eyebrows.
I have huge eyebrows that allow me to play double c's almost effortlessly
