Every plot on this show depends on all the characters being exceptionally dumb. Total "idiot plot" as Ebert called it. It's easier for lazy writers to write because you don't ever have to account for what the characters know or how they would act if they were logical

First of all you can't expect a totally accurate Second Age show. Season 1 was pointless and a long drag and I hated the Harfoots. Because Season 1 was wasted with nothing but introduction and that long ass harfoot story it didn't hit at all. Season 2 however is much better and I'm enjoying it and wish that they did this at the half of season 1 instead of season 2. I watched the first 4 episodes twice now and Sauron is great tbh and Charlie Vickers is nailing it. The first 15 min when Sauron is killed was after Morgoth's defeat and he wanted to take his place but the orcs think he's lying so he gets killed because the orcs don't want to die in battle. When Sauron is 'regaining' his strength and finally takes shape he needs to make a comeback and since he's 'cunning' he does it as Annatar in this show. I also wish they did it a little different but okay. Furthermore I think that Cirdan is portrayed amazing. I like a lot of season 2 but Numenor still feels weak as a story arc. I just wish they did things differently instead of Season 1 being fucking slow and boring.

The 20 minute prologue here contradicting the previous season prologue I found utterly hilarious. They don't even care about their own established canon 😂. Also thank you for pointing out that the goo scenes are straight rip offs of Gollum’s cave I didn’t even think about. They poached so much stuff!

I dont think the showrunners understand how bad this show is. Its alienated the fanbase then failed to realize it has to compete against all media. Not just streaming but all social media, attention is finite. No new fans, got rid of the old.

Actually LOTR Trilogy is far better a 100 times than the rings of power, their elves were beautiful, noble and wise (like fairies) , Galadriel was a goddess... But for ROP not that much galadriel was more of somewhat a fool, not really experienced and very young. Also in lotr the orcs were more evil and less wise depicting their weaknesses to sauron's manipulation and they look more of dark creatures than those of ROP. The ROP did something (Orcs tormenting elves [where is the nobility of the elves]) The only Character interesting in ROP is [The Dark Lord Sauron] other than him all the other character are way too much less amazing compared to LOTR trilogy. No matter how much Rings of power Tried it'll never reach the epitome of LOTR TRILOGY

The writer's were trash this year and did not do a good job. EVEN THE EASTER EGGS WERE LIKE not at all what I expected. Even the Ai character was weak. Visually we see what they spent the budget on.
