Yesterday I tried putting a picture RPG like u did and model it but forgot how. I wanted to know how to make bullets fly because I made the rocket fly only need to learn how to drop. why did u never use any modifiers like mirror or subdivision to get more detail.
you dont really need a mirror modifier for a gun but subdivision i can agree with
if he is not going for detail though then thats probably why he didnt use it
If you can make a low poly styled gun, you can make that one gun in a low poly style. However, if you learn how to make a super high quality gun, you will know how to make anything else and make it high quality. And keep in mind, high quality does not mean super high poly count.
Here's something a lot of people mess up when making glock 17s (the one in the refference image is not a 17). The bevel on the slide is not actually a full bevel in the front. There's a crease created where the edges meet, so on each corner. It's really really hard to see in refference images, but it's there on the real one and on replicas.

what exactly does apply all transforms do? Great tutorial
its probably a little too late but if you didnt learn what it does yet, its incase you change scale, location or rotation. you can apply those seperately wich sets them to a default. say you have a cube wich you scale up by pressing S. in the object properties you will see scale X, Y and Z will have something other than 1 wich if you scaled the cube up to 2 on all axis will show you its twice as big as the default size. applying scale will basically just set the values back to 1 without changing the size back to what scale 1 was originally. location and rotation will have all values set back to 0 after applying while keeping the location or rotation (0 m for location from the origin point and 0 degrees for object rotation). applying all transforms just applies all 3 of those so you have default values on all of them wich makes your life easier. its important for a lot of stuff (especially modifiers) so you should use it frequently.
Apply transformation sets the position, scale and rotation to zero (Or, when it comes to scale; 1) while it keeps the transformation you did before. Also, it sets the pivot point/origin of the object to 0,0,0 and therefore as the center of the Helix. To keep the transformations "good" is important, especially when it comes to animating stuff and setting up rigs. When you set up a rig or modifiers and they act not like you expect, check the transformations.

hello, after you do extrude region and move by pressing E which shortcut do you use to make the direction arrow appear? and why does it not move on one side only but on both sides?
To extrude or move in a certain direction, click E or G + X,Y,Z to select the axis. Hope this helps!
how do you make it to where you edit the vertices behind the ones your clicking?
you need to go in wireframe view and select the vertices you want, you may way want to select a area instead of a simple clicking
If you have x-ray mode enabled like you should instead of clicking on the verticies you have to drag ur mouse onto the point instead of single clicking it
