@@AndyLSB Absolutely perfect! I’ve tested it with my 17-25-45 1.2 primes and it’s great! Also tested it with my 7-14, 12-40 & 40-150 2.8 zooms and it’s also perfect. It’s great having mft lenses and adapted FF lenses. Want a FF look, speedbooster. I do it for interviews and some broll. Want to pack light? Mft oly primes. It’s always a win

@@JericGambon I haven’t tested lidar before so I can’t really comment on it. I haven’t wanted to test lidar because it requires setup if and it doesn’t look clean to me rigging wise. This setup just works. I’m shooting an actual gig with it later today and will share how it performs on a paid gig

@@VidHeadz autofocus works very well here and I’ll keep testing with several different ef lenses I own and use them on upcoming shoots.

@@BAUZKI in the video I’m testing the 18-35 & ultra. I’ve tested 6 different ef lenses so I went back and forth between the ultra and XL. That’s why I put the note.

@@ChrisFlores22 aaaah ok i see, thx for testing :) - never worked with the xl, but isnt it the nearly alltime better choice? asking myself why i bought the ultra while the xl will be a tick more wide

@@BAUZKI I have both. On my sigma 18-35 use the ultra because it avoids vignette and designed for s35 lenses. The XL is designed for full frame lenses. So no wrong doing in having bought the ultra if you’re using the sigma 18-35

@@JohnFelipo yeah the image looks amazing. I have a whole set of 1.2 primes from Olympus but they don’t come close to this sigma 18-35. They shine in how small they are but if IQ is the #1 priority then I think using a metabones is the way. I love my nisi filters. They are pricey but I like having 1-5 because o shoot interviews indoors and sometimes I just need minimal nd. The stack 4stop turns the 1-5 into a 5-9. I also have mist filters from them I like them as well. & I BOUGHT IT ALL MYSELF, so I’m happy to recommend them.

@@CalebHoover thought the “shade” would bring more attention to the video so people could see that it does work. Not 100% perfectly but I’d call it a solid 90% accurate. I’ve tested 6 different sigma ef lenses and they all work great except for my 50 1.4. I’ll have to test more and see why I couldn’t get it to work. Thanks for watching.

@@CalebHoover cool I’m glad you got it to work and I hope to see a follow up from you. So many more people will watch your video vs mine so I hope you can show that it does work and not make metabones look bad or keep people from wanting to achieve a new look using their mft cameras. No one sends me anything, I have to buy my own gear so if the AF was crappy I would have happily confirmed it but in this case, it does work really well.

In my experience the metabones was definitely the right one to use. My vlitrox bersion would freeze up my camera so I got rid of it quickly

@@ChrisFlores22 did you update the metabones before the test. Because there is a new firmware update on the metabones page. It's new.

In this video I was testing the sigma 18-35 with the ultra. I forgot to get a shot of the rig that’s why I showed the 24-35 & XL. I wanted to show the rig since I’ve tested 6 different lenses.

@@ChrisFlores22 lol, now you are getting closer to my position. I'm all about shooting with the Metabones on a MFT. More stops of light, reduces the crop factor, utilize my EF glass, and now auto focus. There is the couple of challenges that go along with it as well. 1. More glass in front of glass - I think with today's lenses and sharpness that is not an issue, 2. Another device needed instead of native mount, and 3. Another potential failing point. I think the advantages out way the challenges.

@@VidHeadz I can see the benefit of having pdaf on my g9ii and with the metabones. I will say, limited experience disclaimer, the autofocus is good but falls behind on some situations where I know my OLY lenses would be fine. I have to keep testing to confirm. But having AF and turning my 2x crop camera to a 1.2x crop is so amazing! For me, If I filmed interviews with mft, Id definitely use the full frame glass and metabones XL. for handheld work, obviously is unbalanced but will provide a closer look to full frame minus dynamic range. Its interesting for sure and we are spoiled to have so many options now lol Ive got a whole sigma ef kit and olympus pro kit. lol

@@ChrisFlores22 I posted my vid last night. In it I show the adjustments I had to make with my Sigma lens having an issue with long distance to infinity when trying to push to focus . Then I used the Sigma Optimization App and adjusted the far distance and now the push to auto focus works well. With my Canon EF L Series lens they worked flawless right away. I too will do more testing but the crop factor, and more light gets me hype. Now you add the push to focus that is just icing on the cake for me 😁.

@@ChrisFlores22 On all the Lumix that ive used, ive had to hit the 'set' button before it will switch focus points. very interested to know what's different with your settings if you dont have to hit 'set' for it to change focus points.

@@A1Bokeh dude yeah! If Panasonic had a mft version of the s9 I think I’d go for it. I just don’t want to get l mount lenses since I’m happy with my ef lenses. When I do need autofocus I pull out the g9ii and I’m good. I actually just ordered something different from Panasonic so I’ll be reviewing that soon!

@@VidHeadz I heard of a rumor that metabones is going to bring a firmware update that will allow for continuous autofocus using ef glass on the g9ii & gh7. Should be cool to check out if it does come but I’m super happy with these Olympus pro lenses.

@@ChrisFlores22 yeah I had the JVC GYLS back years ago when I first started CZcams and I was using the Olympus M.Zuiko Lenses. I really liked those. I have developed into a bit of a aperture snob and trying to get out of that. I like the EF glass because it has so many options and again it is so limited at the same time. It is limited because the new glass that is coming out is not acknowledging the EF mount. Only Blackmagic is utilizing the EF currently.

@@Wildridefilms just updated my speedboosters and I’m impressed! Only tested my 24-35 with XL & 18-35 with ultra. I’ve got a whole lens kit to test out! 14-24 2.8, 50 1.4, 85 1.4, 24-105 f4. I’ll also compare it to my full Olympus pro primes and zooms.

@@eyeballbilly that’s awesome and thank you for your insights as well! I filmed my last wedding in October of 2023. I shot 60+ weddings using an s1h/s1 setup when I got the gh6 I used it with a sigma 24-105. Looking back, I could have gotten everything with mft and the images would have been beautiful also. You live and you learn lol

@@eyeballbilly thank you! Moving forward I’ll be using the s1h-bs1h-eva1. Happy to have 3 cameras with an olpf as the S1 is sharper compared to the s1h & eva1.

@@ChrisFlores22 that's a vey good option the BS1H can be had at a good price and they use same batteries as EVA1 and last for ages and yes all 3 will then have the optical filter, good stuff mate, you know what you're doing

I’m thinking of selling mine and getting a bs1h instead. Simply because I now mainly shoot in open gate and the eva1 doesn’t offer that. Besides that, the Eva is a better image hands down

@@ChrisFlores22 I was also considering between the S1H and BS1H too but I have the S5iix as my main cam for now. I just alwsy love to have 2 cams just in case. I currently have the bmpcc 6k pro.

I setup a bus to be a livestream mix separate from the front of house or in ear mix. Then send it to the atem using an rca to 1/8 in jack. The livestream is fed to aux 5&6 I believe on the x32 and out via the rca connectors

You can find an affordable vmount option and small rig makes a new system that doesn’t require rails to attach the vmount. I’d get that and bypass the battery bank honestly. Then once you add a Monitor you already have a power solution vs having to use a big npf battery

I’m sure it would work. I ended up selling my bs1h and picked up an eva1 instead. I also picked up a port keys bm5iii so maybe one day I’ll get a bs1h again and test it out since the port keys offers camera control over usbc
