Moris, you talk as if Nigeria is an Independent country. The problem is far greater. Our leaders are simply the jailers employed by the colonial master! We are in the jail that’s why we don’t have citizens rights. Our leaders whether military or civilian with few exceptions like Abacha and Murtala are the overseers Master has appointed for their slave plantation called Nigeria! Democracy is the tactic Master now called Chevron and imf uses to select our leaders by giving them money to ‚win’ election. Then the leaders work for master and enjoy more than ordinary plantation slaves. This thing we call corruption is their benefit. Don’t you think that left to them, Buhari and other presidents before him would prefer strong Naira? Wouldn’t Tinubu because he wants people to like him reduce price of petrol by sending our crude to our refineries? The problem is that they are not in a position to make such decisions! They are like the trusted caretaker you leave to look after your house when you travel! The caretaker must phone you for instructions on any matter in that your house. They can’t take any important decisions like who the central bank governor should be or oil minister or security adviser these must be masters boys. Our leaders cant decide to tripple the men in Nigeria army who are grossly understaffed for our security needs as it took Chad to enter Nigeria to break the backbone of Boko Haram for us. Our so called leaders can decide on things like which national anthem to sing and who to dispose the rubbish in Abuja. In return for their service, Master allows them import the Petrol Nigeria needs and gives them some dollars every month to share with other powerful Nigerians who can disrupt Masters business if they don’t get settled. That’s the senators etc, traditional rulers and service chiefs and ethnic militia. That’s why our refinery’s don’t work because if they work, they will demand part of the crude Master is taking for himself and this won’t sit well with him. Our steel industry too must not work least we industrialize like China and get ideas of independence from master dito our power generation or agriculture. So wake up to the fact that we are still in the pre independence era with countries like Bukina Faso, Niger and Chad ahead of us in freedom from colonial rule.
