    Is this real?

      Somewhat. That’s because it is based on a real event. On 9th August 1991, the Singapore Armed Forces detected some activities happening in the north, which turned out to be a joint exercise between Malaysia and Indonesia in Johor named Pukul Habis, translated to Total Wipeout. The SAF wasn’t notified beforehand that this exercise was taking place, and so troops were mobilized and deployed all over Singapore as a precaution in case anything does happen The public, of course, weren’t notified of this, to prevent mass panic and ruining the festive mood Mr Lee Kuan Yew, the Prime Minister at the time, suspected this act was purposefully done. Not to do any actual harm, but as an intimidation tactic to keep Singapore “in its place” and scaring Singapore from trying any funny business in the future. Of all days to do their exercise, National Day? That seems mighty suspicious… Thankfully nothing happened that day and this video is a “what if” scenario. But then again, things like this are very real. It’s not a matter of “if”, but a matter of “when”

    I am quite confused. Why put the “Important Message” signal, instead of the “Alarm” signal?

    • @Singaburg_Republik
      @Singaburg_Republik Před 3 měsíci

      First too tell everybody to get to the radio or TV and then later the lark signal was giiven

    • @MrNoUsername
      @MrNoUsername Před 6 dny

      Because as the name suggests, this is an important message. It won’t be wise to play the alarm signal outright instead of the “Important Message” signal first, because otherwise mass panic will insure because no one knows what’s happening

    This could be further expanded into a series with a lore like Malaysia & Indonesia’s invasion as well as giving Brunei threats more and more for helping Singapore instead of ‘siding’ with fellow Malay brethren while ASEAN does little besides standing by and the UNSC is preparing a coalition which is hampered by the efforts of liberating Kuwait from Iraq, with Mossad suspecting Saddam Hussein being involved in order to distract the world from his invasion of Kuwait.

      What if Singapore got dragged in Vietnam war? Can Singapore win against viet cong alone

  • @YourLocalDoctor
    @YourLocalDoctor Před 2 lety

    This is based on the 1991 incident where Singapore perceived a nearby joint Malaysian-Indonesian military drill as either a preparation for an invasion or a show of force. This incident was not publicised for clear reasons.
