From the Segovia Archive, or better describe as pieces written for Segovia but was never performed during his lifetime. This was thought to be the only piece Pahissa had written for the guitar. Here is the Nocturne No.2, op. 4 by Johann Kaspar Mertz. Up until recently, I was not aware that this Nocturne has a second movement. That tells you how much I know😓. The last marking - “attacca (without break)” at the end of the Nocturne was also intentionally left out in several editions. Which make sense as the 2nd movement are not presented. Reminds me a bit of my time in Paraguay. Is this related to Paraguayan music? Mbae la porte chere ah! Ipona! LOL... Never learned to read Guarani. That was a butchered attempt to say "how are you and great job!" Good historical story about Paraguay. The Jesuits worked hard to protect the area from the nasty. Guitar and harp were things that they introduced. Due to their efforts and Parguayans (Guarani)... It is the only nation in South America where the indigenous language is known more than Spanish and even the top speaks it. Quechau is still wildly spoken in Peru etc. But, doesn't hold the same cultural grips on society as Guarani does in Paraguay. Anyhow, loved your playing and might not be related to anything I am talking about hahaha... WELL DONE!
You are totally on point. The piece is from the South American Suite by Hector Ayala. Each of the Dances in the suite is dedicated to a South American country. the Guarania is as you have guessed, to Paraguay. I’ve wished I know a little more about this piece and now I have a wonderful story to tell. Thank you!

Thank You Matthew! The guitar is a generous and beautiful loaner by #HansonYao of #Altamira Guitars during my stay in Hong Kong. I believe it’s Model N3. I will double check. The strings are a full of D’addario J.45. My baseline strings. I used only a Hypemic by #Apogee with no editing.

@@PatrickLuiguitar It really is great and I'm baffled how he never came across my radar since Venezuelan guitar music has been some of my favorite since I started playing. I don't know if you know of Efrain Silva, but he's a current composer who studied with Alirio Diaz and Rodrigo Riera and has a really nice set of studies and some other music on his site. I’m not at all aware of Efrain Silva’s work. I will look them up for sure. (If I could find them😀) There are so much music that has been ignored for a long time. It’s nice to find out more about them. Maybe even brush the dust off for them.
