Good review, You forgot to mention that when they came out, they were £1k more expensive than the Hayabusa, this is one of the reasons that lots of people went for the busa instead of the ZX12r. Me ? I've had my A1 since 2002, it now has a turbocharger fitted. 🙂. Recently bought a B2 model to slow me down a bit. Brakes need upgrading to radial on the early models, clutch baskets explode if bike is hammered. ( Billet upgrade fitted to mine). Still a missile and no rider aids, takes skill to ride and not computer controlled like more modern stuff. Oh and drinks fuel like George Best during happy hour. Apart from that , il never sell mine.

Can I ask did you modify your cooling system?? To me its amazing how low your temp is, my (2003) VFR often gets over 100°C, many say this is normal 🤔

I bought my VFR 800 VTEC partly due to you, I adore it and never intend to sell it. Nearly went for a ZX10R, but now I want one of these 😂 Don't know how many bikes I'll end up with, VFR, Africa Twin, looking for a ZX12R, and I also fancy a BMW R1150RT as a wintertime hack. Is four enough?

I’ve been lucky to have owned 7 Busa’s and they’re were all dreams to ride. The Gen 3 is indeed AWESOMENESS ……

Unique bike the zx12r, its a the big brother to the zx6 and zx9r, and never got replaced until kawasaki introduced the h2, the zzr1100 and later zzr1400 were more blisteringly fast sports tourers, kawasaki named it the zx12r and not the zzr1200 for a reason, it was meant to be more sports bike orientated rather than tourer. It was a bike ahead of its time, and a type/design of bike that never caught on. Technology advanced so fast in the early 00's that the new 1000cc superbikes soon made the busa and zx12r irrelevant as they were as fast, but weighed much less. Still, the zx12r makes a phenomenal road bike and a piece of 2 wheel history. Kawasaki pulled the plug on the zx12r in 06 and abandoned the genre of bike until the kawasaki h2 in around 2016, again a completely bonkers design with the supercharger etc.

I put both feet down unless I’m sure the bike is stable. Sometimes using one foot down with the other on the rear brake, but the chances of dropping the bike are higher.

Is the weight a problem ive only been riding dirt bikes and really like this bike. Hear 500lbs and eqsy to drop and slower turning speeds.

I put both feet down all the time lol. Its comfy and Ill either hold the clutch and brake or just brake, sometimes I go wild and just knock it into neutral and just play the drums on my fuel tank.
