Just picked up one of these for 500.00, it was stored for 5 years.... Cleaned it and set up new pipe to transition to our triple wall after the thimble in the ceiling.... Fired right up.... I do not have as much yellow flame as you do and concerned about soot.... I do get some mild "thumping" sounds but only initially. 1. Do I need to adjust the air chute? 2. Does ember placement effect the burn? Thanks !!

why have a contemporary fire and then put shelves of fake flowers and old cabinets either side???? all that work, and really the old looked better.

Hi, when using these inserts should the bottom vent be opened or closed for continuous use? Is the fire controlled via the top or bottom slider?

looks like a fiddly mechanism to open that door, cant they come up with something better than that? But they are great fires. Best in the world.

hey doc on F3's do you know if theres a cast piece between the actual wood stove itself and durablack single wall pipe that i plan on using? i have a stove pipe adapter thats single wall also....they fit but into the F3 hole but its wobbly...i had this given to me and cant find if i need an extra top peice or if i can put the single wall rite into. thank you.

Shame it's not fitted correctly. The 33 needs a 150mm flue. This one has a reducer going down to 125mm. That is dangerous practice.

Does anyone know if the jotul gas stove can be converted to a woodburning stove? I would like to keep it and reinstall it as an alternative means to heating the lounge room on the weekends.....Tx

My F500 heats our house with no trouble, actually it gets too hot even with the air cut down...awesome stove..!!

The Open Fire Centre Oldham shocking customer service we wouldn't use them again

We've had a Jotul f400 "clean burn" wood stove for 3 years. It replaced a 1970's era Ashley catalytic wood stove. I live in a section of the U.S.A. where winter temperatures are just at freezing for weeks at a time and dropping down much lower infrequently.. The Jotul burns almost continuously from November through March keeping the house toasty without much trouble. I am VERY satisfied with the craftsmanship, quality, design, size and heat produced.
