We have had some giant winter steelhead eat these big flies, but the main target has always been Spring Chinook. Our hook of choice is an Owner 1/0 octopus.

Great tutorial
Nice fly
Love this pattern and great instructions, Ty!!
Thank you for sharing your technique…….tied for fifty years….never tied tubes…..much appreciated!
Looks good enough to eat.
Hola qué tipo de torno usas para poner los anzuelos y además poner los clips gracias
instead of fox can you use craft fur
will it work in slow water like walking pace
I used to fish A Box P years ago with success,I've kind of city in away frim them ,I was gonna tie some up for October fishing in pa.do you think your style with the white band would work here in pa ? And what is the purpose of the pearl collar
Great fly and instructions!
There is no way I would ever tie this ... too many unnecessary stages and more than 45 minutes to tie one fly no way! It shouldn’t take more than 15-20 minutes to tie an intruder. The finished product looks nice but it’s a waste of time to go that far with it.
ever consider, people might enjoy making a objectively better fly. thinking about the river etc vs watching t.v and drinking beer or w/e???.. They tie because they enjoy it,,,,, If you only wanna tie whats necessary. just go swing a chenille egg pattern if thats your mentality. even though its on the swing. You'll still outfish everyone, especially intruders lol (''smaller flies appeal to more fish'' quote from ed ward and jerry french intruder creators).,,, or thread a rabbit strip on your leader, tie a hook and stop from sliding with split shot,,. i mean Anything else is ''unnecessary'' right? ....
Without a doubt a bass would eat that fly ..... !!
Hehe!!! You're kind of like me!!! Fu.. it lets try some of this and bits of that and see what happens!. Good video m8.
Amazing 👏, thank you for making the tutorial ❤
Does Spirit River still make these tungsten bodies?
Awesome! Really appreciate your tying tips. Your flies look 👍 really great. Very fishy.
If someone ask you why you are obsessive draw to steelhead, they will never understand.
Beauty 👍🙏
The "easy" way is to ride the flash up the thread.
Could you please tell me where u got your pheasant hackles. Nice tie I’ll tying your pattern. Thanks
ever consider a reverse tie for the wing right at the start and then fold it back and lash it down when you get to the front? easier than a dub loop...
For me tying that fly. I need three or four hands. Great looking fly. Thanks for sharing. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 👍😎👍
What music was that?
ABSOLUTELY kool how it slowly comes together...dang great work!!👍🇺🇸🇬🇧🇨🇦👍
Why not tying it on a single copper tube?
Great video .
Best hohbo Spey tiying lesson ever. Thank you for the video.
Good tie!!
Nice job I love the colours how they mix up ! And that form of green is whit white that colour who fish see deepest! Nice tie 😊 Sad we dont have the intruder flys here in Scandinavia. I learn to tie those as I'm live in USA. Best regards Bjorn 🇸🇪
Awesome, the reds have to be watched
Man your meticulous nice to see
I watch about every fly Tire on CZcams one of my favorite activities to do you by far are the most patient fly tyer I think I've ever seen and you remind me a lot of myself your attitude and techniques and your fit and finish of these flies are about the best I've seen on CZcams some of them are simple but the extra technique in detail you put in to making sure for example even your Marabou you blow back on it in between turns occasionally same shit that I do you are great fly Tire
Wow really nice color combos great tie.
Does rabbit in a loop work as well up front or black schlappen? What was that brush called
Is a intruder fly a style of tie, or the body separation?
A intruder is generally a style and platform,,,- 2 station fly with general body separation, mostly each of the two stations has a dubbing ball,a shoulder hackle- like artic fox or polar bear or golden pheasant or dubbing loop mix etc,,, and finally a ostrich or rhea hackle ( though less popular marabou and/or other hackle can be used),,.. his fly has 2 stations with a tinsel body separation like a intruder
Tied a pretty good fly for first try, WTF cant get fly of needle, help
I like the detail, always look for 5 wraps, and clean. Where do you sell your flies?
Hey when you tie granny knot to make loop, it's up to angler, to get loop right, either the hook is in junction or sitting out some?
I've only fished for trout, bass, pike but I get it awesome river with difficult fish to catch, and the patterns are awesome, love tube flies, great video
Wow, just starting out love the flies, getting a great idea of what I need, mainly joining sm, to med for trout, thank you very informative videos
