A video of Ulysses a Eagle owl hooting. Ulysses is a trained falconry bird, and is used in educational programs. The straps on is legs are called jesses. They are there to give the falconer something to hold on to when handling the bird. Ulysses is well cared for by a licensed falconer.

Bird was way to heavy to hunt properly. Wasn't really interested atall in catching it. Ounce lighter next time

Hi Cindy, material from your video on Ulysses has been used by Kees Vanger; czcams.com/video/nHiflW1id7Q/video.html . He used a lot of my material too. Maybe you can file a copyright complaint against this guy. All his videos have been made of footage he took from others.

old school hawking yeah she is a great squirrel bird but still needs a little more practice when it comes to pheasants.
@@CindyFry If you have a lot of pheasants hanging around, she'll finally connect. Pheasants are hard to catch for any hawk, and that's because they're feathers pull out so easily. When the bird realizes they have to grab the head, they'll have more success. OSH :-)

That is pretty awesome !!! One of my good friends is currently getting into falconry. Everytime I think about it I remember the childhood book "My Side of the mountain"
THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT IVE BEEN LOOKING FOR! I have two young turkeys who I have raised and have as pets and have been waiting to find a way to take them on walks around town and such to get them more friendly and help in teaching them tricks and stuff. I tried chicken harnesses but they were too small or not mobile enough. This looks perfect though! So it's just like a small dog harness right? Do you have any recommendations for size, brand or anything like that?
Nathan Tucker yes this is just a normal dog harness for a small dog. I just let my turkey walk where ever she likes when I have her leashes.

@@CindyFry and you just go about it the same you would as a dog? How do you get the wings in there? I'll have to try and see you might not need a medium she's kind of a bigger girl.

can you post a video on how you did it? i got a couple of keets and a tiel that i like to take out but i always wanted to free fly them. and i am saving up for a macaw so that could be some nice insurance against escapes.
I used to let some fly free but they started chewing on the roof so I had to stop.

Ollie looks alot like my hawk Max when he was a juvenile. Bright white chest with a lot of white on the face. Ollie is a beautiful bird. How does Ollie look now?
