I think my ears are broken bc the octobass sounded crazy out of tune to me but that's probably bc i was struggling just to hear it. I guess it makes sense that our sense of pitch would get messed up around the extemes of what we can hear

I don't think we humans are biologically programmed to hear in that low frequency. That, or our ears may not be trained to hear it.

In truth, octobass create a unusuall timbre, but not valuable. It's not hard to come up with many different instruments, but it's hard to come up with an instrument with a valuable timbre.

That's cool that you can sort of hear the individual "clicks" of the very low vibrations of the octobass!
