@@ieatlotsoftoast for the first 2.5 years with this, and 2 years with our Q4, 90% of our charging was free! We rely on public charging in its mostly done at 40p/kWh which isn’t too bad but i preferred it free 😂

@@TheSilentStar mate- he hit the white van! That’s not spacial awareness. Unless he was just using the van to fold his mirror in so he could drive even closer after that? If you grew up driving tractors like that and it was OK to hit stuff then you weren’t driving them very well 😜

@@CZcamsuseritis 100%, it’s the best car I’ve ever owned! Newer ones (built after Oct 23) are even better as they have an upgraded motor so better performance and efficiency 👍🏻

@@dannyh9063 it’s got an auto hold you can switch on. It will automatically put the handbrake on until you press the accelerator 👍🏻 Did a video about that and the braking a couple of months ago 😁

@@scottpaget1315 hi, where are you based? If your charging in Scotland it’s worth sign up for the Chargeplace Scotland app, and if you’re going to be in more report parts it’s worth order the RFID card from them for about £15? I don’t go down to England very often, but I’ve signed of for the free tariff on Audi Charging which gives you access to chargers across lots of networks (including BP and Ionity). On my recent trip (motorway range video) I used a local charger and a Shell one and just downloaded the relevant apps when I had parked at the charger. A lot of chargers now accept debit/credit cards (eg the chargers at Tebay services) so you don’t need to sign up for anything. Hope that helps 👍🏻 How are you finding the 45?

@@edinreviews we do have the Audi charging but we’re having some technical difficulties with it at the moment so our recent venture to England wasn’t as cheap as we’d hoped but the charge Scotland sounds like a good option so we will definitely be purchasing that. The car is amazing my wife suffers with arthritis and my eldest 15 year old boy is 6,4” and I’m 6,2” so we needed something that was comfortable on long journeys. It’s a dream to drive I really do love the car and the almost one pedal driving is one of my favourite features I just love how the car brakes for you and recuperates energy at the same time. @@charlie3655 this wheel chair isn’t great as the handles don’t drop down and the feet bits are fixed but it gives you an idea of the space 👍🏻

@@Olliebobalong it really depends on where you charge. We had a 520d which had a massive range but in 4 years averaged 46mpg. I did a video a while back about the cost of charging and as long as I average under 50p/kWh I am saving a little. £77 a tank at £1.43 giving 830 miles is remarkable. That’s 54 litres so 70mpg which I’m guessing is way better than the official figures? I only use public chargers and mostly they are about 40p/kWh round here. For the first 2 years most of my charging on public chargers was free which made a big difference. The initial purchase price difference didn’t matter to me as I wasn’t buying outright- monthly payments were more important for my situation.

@@edinreviews I think you’re spot on. Yes; my last tank gave 66.8MPG, over an entire tank, so just shy of 70MPG, I may have some room for margin or error, but even 3p/miles less for an EV vs what I currently have just isn’t worth it, and in my situation, I bought my car outright and have had it from new since 2019, and unless something else comes along that merits me spending a lot of money again, I simply wont. Tested every single Audi and nothing justifies the quality and value of my A6. I came close to ordering a Q4, but the one I’d want (the fastest version, basically top spec) still feels cheaper inside than my A6, understandably because it isn’t pitched as a high-up offering vs the A6. I’m assuming the Q6 will plug that gap and then-some, but they want to charge £60k for it. It’s constant wins and losses. I recall how smooth and effortless the Q4 is, and it still feel like a quality product given its an Audi. Probably the best EV in its price range. Unimpressed by Tesla. I got 4.5kw/m when I had the Q4 while the A6 was being serviced,d but that was rural driving. I’m assuming the next iteration will be another leap forward. I know the Q4 has among the most efficient regen’s on any production EV.

I charge at home at 7p per kWh overnight. I get roughly the same range in my Q4. With no road tax it totally makes sense for me.

@@timpaterson2872 Yeah - the home charging is where the maths really starts to make sense. On a Q4 eTron I find that so long as I'm paying less than 45p/kWh then my fuel costs are cheaper with an EV (assuming about 3.3mi/kWh vs an ICE on 55mpg). But when you can charge from home at 7p/kWh and when you do most of your charging on that (over 90% of my charging is done from home) then it really starts to make financial sense. Of course there's also the ecological benefits too- it's nice to know you could turn on your EV in a garage and it'd not kill you :)

@@edinreviews I find the bikes on the tow bar create a huge drag, I'll lose about ~20% alone with the bikes. We have the Thule roof box with the shark skin technology, and that alone impacts the range by only ~10%. Combined I'd say its ~25% loss of range. We'll be heading up the M6/74 and off at Abington and up the A702 > A720 > A1. We have a boat up in NB, I towed it up last summer in the Q4 and strangely managed 3.2m/kw with cruise control set at 60mph on the motorway.

@@jimf4748 we love the i3, but unfortunately it’s on salary sacrifice so it will be going back next May 😢 My wife would love a new one but BMW have gone a totally different route with their EVs now😱 There’s nothing out there quite like it. The Q4 isn’t too bad for efficiency give the size and weight (2100kg)!

That’s awful. Cruise control is better for efficiency in ICE models providing you a rent going down steep hills or sharp inclines. Not being able to use cruise control because of efficiency is a big turn off for me.

The Q6 etron looks amazing but on my salary sacrifice scheme it’s way more expensive. Considering the i5 Touring, ID Buzz (with the updated motor etc), Model Y, and Q4 55 at the moment but they’re all very different🤔

@@danielrobinson3665 test drove it yesterday. It's a huge step up from the Q4, and it has a rain rail on the windscreen ! The Hipatic buttons are still there. More dosh but a lot more car.

@@PeterDane783 I’d say a medium is probably big enough, unless your needing bulky clothes/gear. Medium is 71 litres I think so a decent size without being unwieldy 👍🏻

@@edinreviews Based on the consumption on the journey - it gives you an extrapolated total range of 271 miles. 271/3.9 miles per kw gives a battery capacity of 69.5 kw ( 90 % of original) . A bit down from the 77 kw useable capacity audi quote for a new car. Of course this is a very rough way of calculating it.

I’m heading to Manchester next weekend so will have a decent motorway run to test efficiency. Struggled to get 3.0m/kWh with the roof box on 😱

@@SKLLZTHATKILLZ you can switch the predictive regen off in the settings I think? 🤔 it’s in car, efficiency assist, recuperation I think? You can have auto or off which will allow you to always coast?

Just got mine (2025 model sport quattro 45) and it's one of the few annoying things, sometimes end up "over braking" and other times not when it decides it's not slowing itself down. I'll be turning that off now I know you can! ​@@edinreviews
