Still got my Tribal Edition (as it's nicknamed here is Sweden) and it still works perfectly. :). I believe the spongebob edition was an AGS-101 (as indicated on the box) wich makes it better than many others. I've seen a snes-edition, but maybe that's just a reshell thing? Do you know anything about it? Also, like someone else said, you could make videos on the other handhelds as well. I still got my Play It Loud GameBoy so I would love a video on those. :) Great vudeo though! Definitely made me consider starting to collect these. :) /Robert

I dont know if you noticed,.. but on the super mario edition, the rubber cussions around the display are white and I belive its supposed to resemble the red white dot mushrooms..... really enjoyed this video... you've earned a sub from me for sure.... P.S I remeber being given the Minish cap gold SP on my birthday. Was my favorite console in my late childhood.... lost count of how many hours I played of pokemon emerald on that thing

Nice! The GBA SP is my all time favorite handheld as well! I have 5 different models, including the NES, Zelda and Tribal ones. They're my babies! I've always wanted to mod an AGS-101 backlit screen into them, just haven't gotten around to it. Hopefully one day!

I could totally see the dual screen DSwitch working with a dock, you put your console on it like the switch, then take off the upper screen and use it like a gamepad by attaching the joycons on it. Though I wonder if it would really be that useful, I mean having a second screen as an inventory like the Zelda remakes on 3ds and Wii u or Xenoblade X is a good idea, but I don't know if the cost is worth it for them or if it wouldn't be too heavy in portable mode. There's also the practicality of transferring you joycons on the upper screen every time you dock it in and vice versa. You could also get all the DS and 3DS games ports or on NSO and maybe have the possibility in handheld mode to slide the top screen over the bottom one if you want to play on one screen only like you do with a switch instead of just putting the second screen off your way at the risk of losing it. The only problem I see with it is: either both screens will have the same quality and there's no problem forward or one of the screen gets a lower quality for cost reasons. I imagined the better screen being the one in front of all the main tech, so the bottom one that would logically dock in but when I think about it, the 3DS and DS better screen is the upper one even though all the tech is mostly in the bottom part of the console. So yeah technically if they do it the 3DS way, you'll always have the better screen in your hands no matter how you play. Except without it in docked mode of course, but even with a "S2 Pro Controller" I could see Nintendo adding a slider on the top of the controller or a magnet to support a screen or the other way around by having you pro controller being able to separate itself in half like joycons. And when you think about it, with one of the recent rumors speaking about the new console being named the Nintendo Attach, it could make sense.

The first thing that got me into gaming was a PlayStation 2 put, I like the Game Boy Advance SP fawn memories. The first one i got was a red one.

I have a golden Majora's Mask SP, but if it isn't included here, i think it might be custom. I also have a Pokeball edition that actually is custom, but I realised that too late ^^' It cannot connect with other devices sadly, I wanted to trade stuff to the Gamecube with it. Anyway, cool video. Straight to the point. You could do a lot more of these if you liked making it, there are gameboy colors, game&watch series, n64 and gamecube stuff, but hey maybe outside of Nintendo there are a lot of Tamagotchi devices or Digimon ones. Heck even Playboy made a phone once and Ferrari a computer. Very cool niche stuff for the world to behold.

The Pikachu edition doesn't have red buttons. It has brown buttons. The red buttons are on fake reshelled ones. The torchic also has a torchic outline on the front like the rest

A switch ds would be too heavy for a portable.

if they do a dual screen switch I doubt they would have a detachable screen (understand I want that but there are just too many problems with that design. like the second screen going missing or breaking...) but people can use the dual screen as a vs mode like people playing fighting games and/or racing games with their own screen... I'm thinking the second screen can fold down like a clam-shell OR fold backwards so there are two screens on both sides (this will be the vs mode I talked about). there is already technology that can stream an hdmi signal from a device to a tv with little to no lag. and as you said the console can be used as the second screen and like the wii u the screens can switch back and forth.

Could utilise the same folding screen concept as the ds like you said and maybe just modify the dock or make a completely different dock to fit it better, it'd depend on the final shape of the console

The second one is definitely possible. So it adds an additional “Switch” mode. Only the top screen detaches and can be placed on top of the bottom screen so that it can have a one screen mode for your typical 3rd party games that don’t want to be creative and use 2 screens . Or play in a mode similar to DS games. Also you can detach one screen and hand it to a friend for multiplayer and it streams from the main device. This improves and removes the need to play multiplayer games with tiny joycon on their side. Also allows for DS and 3DS games to be brought over on NSO.

A bigger screen is fine but what I'd REALLY like his for the joycons to be beefier themselves - they're SO small, SO tiny, that it cramps you up after not too long if you have even reasonably large male hands. The PS5 controller feels AMAZING compared to the PS4 one or Switch joycons, so what if they had the part you hold shaped like THAT? And yeah, so you'd need a deeper case and blah blah blah, who cares. Having a case that's 1cm deeper and 2 cm to 4 cm longer ISN'T going to make it impossible to take with you in your backpack, luggage, etc. And it'd feel SO much better to hold. I HATE the joycons. Biggest downside of the switch. They suck. They just suck, on an otherwise GREAT system.

At around 4:10 you say nintendo has always been a strong advocate for backwards compatibility which I would have to partially disagree with. Yes sometimes Nintendo has made consoles that can play previous gen games but sometimes across generations your previous library won’t carry over. Examples of this would be n64 to gamecube, wii u to switch. On top of that, when the switch came out all your virtual console games from the previous generations didn’t carry over which is a huge f u to the people who invested in those libraries. Also, we know that gamecube and wii games can run on the switch. But with the success of some of the recent remasters, nintendo will probably want to make more remasters instead of adding gamecube and wii games to nintendo switch online. Now I agree that nintendo is doing better but to say they are a strong advocate for backwards compatibility is just wrong.

I hope they don't make a Nintendo Switch 2 and stay where they're at so far Nintendo is doing good at that right now I don't want my games to be all digital and rely on OneDrive to monopolize the gaming industry not good for customer service and is gonna cause me to go back to retro gaming.

the recent releases tab has no algorithm. it only shows the games released from newest to oldest with no regard for publisher. you'll see nintendo published games go up there when they are freshly released, but it makes complete sense to me why they aren't there otherwise

1080p in 7-8 inch screen is pretty overkill to me. I hope you can change the resolution to 720p so that console at least have longer battery. Yeah I prefer battery more than graphics and stuff. I wouldn't mind playing 30fps 720p on any rpg games.

4K dock will definitely happen. I don't know where you've been looking but 4K TV's are easily affordable now. You can literally find 4K TV's for $300 or in the 200's price range. This isn't the years 2010 or 2015 anymore where you had to damn near pay close to a thousand dollars to get a decent size 4K TV.

Which one would you buy? I personally have no idea what I want, both are pretty awesome to me idk, but I feel like I can play ACNH for wayy longer that SSBU.

More people "don't" have a 4k TV. Than do. Did I hear that right. Haha. They're like 100$ now. I'd bet donuts to dollars. That 4k TV's are by far the most TV's in use now. Nintendo should focus on 60 fps and good graphics. Above all else.
