An old friends reaction to iconic DMX 🤣😭✌️🕊️
It's coming up on DMX's anniversary of physical departure, and I come back to this one. Not to mourn, or exploit, but to love, and love the love. To laugh, the same way, every time I watch this. Yes, it's a computer being filmed by my phone, it's the only way I understand how to do this back then. At the height of COVID, music was bringing people together in amazing ways, I think it's an incredible phenomena and one that actually did some fucking good. I understand that I always stood out as a pretty grungy looking, white girl, in foster care, subjecting all of these COUNTRY people to DMX. At the height of his coming onto the scene, legitimately, in 1998. I was a sophomore in highschool. He became, in essence, my backbone, my mentor, my darkness and eye into what the darkness really looks like, and how to LIVE with that knowledge. We won't all have the same experiences, we do all have them. And we usually don't talk about them openly or honestly. I felt more normal, and sane, in his presence than I did anywhere else at that time in my life.
I believe I filmed this in 2021, after finding this guy who was doing good first time rap reactions. So I got an idea, for some reason, to film me doing a reaction that was pretty terrible because I did not know what I was doing. I still don't.
The point is! DMX was a fucking genius comedian. His reads were few and far in between, but he read in a way you never forgot. His humor came into his music often and during times you wouldn't even know he was talking shit unless you were really listening.
If you know anything about DMX, it's this song. It's probably his most famous read and I loved Benjos reaction to it. Always a good memory.

Everything is metaphor here.. her writing style is not for the weak of heart. I imagine it's just a mentioning of the character as it relates to her in her life.

All the world just stopped now. So you say, don't wanna stay together anymore. Let me take a deep breath babe. I remember feeling exactly that when my first real girlfriend suggested we split up. She meant she was dumping me of course. The whole world stopped. It took my breath away. I vaguely remember her coming up with some vague excuse for wanting to dump me - not me liking the same icecream as Charles Manson, but something like that. And when she found a new boyfriend, I thought she just hadn't really seen the real me. If only she had seen those pieces.........(Stacy, are you there?) and that is the beauty of this song. I really think this and Winter are 2 of the most beautiful songs ever written.

I am beginning to understand the confusion of the earthly pain and that is misunderstood because the earth is so shitty. The disposition is clear along with the frustration of this current Hell here on earth in our time here. Yes the world is taken over by greed and power, but only two apostles denied Jesus, Judas, who was bought out by the Sadducees, Jewish top controller's of money and their ritual beliefs of all the Jews. Jesus turned a page with the New Testament, which negated the rituals and based on love and truth built believers. Peter, another apostille, as predicted by Jesus, would deny him when the third crow crowd. Survival was what Peter's reason. Greed was Judas's. The angels that went with Satan were 1/3 of God's Angels, not all the angels. Satan lives here and is a total killer to us while his presence runS over this earth, yes; but this will be a blink as we go on. Revelations puts this world in perspective.

Tori says “starfucker” in this song, NIN has “starfucker inc” , also about Courtney Love. Tori and Trent are friends. Or at least they very much were in 1996. I stopped paying attention. Lol.
