This reminds me of that video of the rat saving her babies from a big rain storm. Not that this is a dangerous situation, it's just incredible how much trust she has. I do think she knows what she is doing.

Just love this video. Wondering though how you would train your rat to do this? You can not use them baby as the object to train with, how did you got them to associate the babies for the ( object or toy ) probably used in training, to bring them to you. Though its great to see that the rat entrusted you guys so much, it would happily bring its new born litter to you guys =3

I think rats make great pets for low level offense prisoners. They are inexpensive to procure and keep. They don't require a lot of space. They are intelligent and affectionate. It's a great way to condition prisoners to a sense of compassion and responsibility for others.
