​@@darylephillips6778 NS have a threshold temp of 170F before stopping the train. The earlier reading was only about 100F so they carried on. The last reading was 253F and that's when they put on the brakes, but it was too late that point. The main problem was there was a 20 mile gap between detectors which was long enough to go from warm to crash. The government should mandate more frequent detectors so this doesn't happen. I think they should require one every 5 miles. That way even if one malfunctions the gap will not be too large.

@@ryanglaser5336 Good comment Ryan G. I agree - the concept of being self-insured is prevalent here on Miami Beach as well , perhaps in many Florida communities. Self insuring is a terrific option for the "Super Rich" , however , it is a very foolish option for the middle to upper class. Silicon Valley Bank teaches up that the Super Rich will get a bailout from the Federal Government every time , BUT Palestine Ohio teaches us that the ordinary middle to upper class will get nothing from the Federal Government , not even a visit. Thank you! It was a very sobering experience driving through Sanibel and seeing the true devastation. I just picked music that expressed how I was feeling. I believe the people of Sanibel are resilient and will rebuild and overcome the tremendous hardship they must be going through. Unfortunately, it will take time. Hopefully, there will be some kind of government assistance to help these businesses to open again.
