I've flown here a few times now but travelling to new locations is quite tricky at the moment when you don't drive and I wanted to get some practice editing on my laptop.

Having a go at editing in DaVinci Resolve on my laptop using proxy files as my laptop really can't handle 4k editing. usually I edit on my ipad using Lumafusion. the experience is very different but I feel I've learnt a lot, still much more to learn and my colour correction and grading needs a lot of work.

On top of Roche Rock is a ruined 15th century chapel (dedicated to St Michael) which is said to have been the abode of a leper or a monk. The chapel is said to have been built by a hermit as a cell. The identity of the hermit is not certain but some say he was a shunned leper from the Tregarnick family, whose daughter, St Gundred tended to him. shot on a DJI Mavic 2 Zoom. edited in Lumafusion.

Hi Danny, I'm doing a video on the history of telecommunications and porthcurno's role in that. I'm mostly a computer history channel, so as you can imagine there is not much call for me to take any drone footage normally. I was wondering if you would mind me using some of the drone footage you took of porthcurno as part of my video (credited of course) ?

Unless you are very familiar with St Ives, this is just confusing. Switching from one point to another, sometimes after just a second, shows you nothing. A continuous shot would be much better.

I loved this video. I have walked all the coastal path of North Cornwall and have been to Hayle a couple times and I am intrigued by the tides and the sand bars and the "breakwater" pier between Hayle Quay and Hayle Sands/ St. Uni church. And I also love the fantastic views from St. Ives to Gwithian and Godrevy Lighthouse. Now I got the best view I could wish for in this beautiful video 😍 Thank you.

Aye, it's beautiful there. That whole stretch of coastline between Land's End and St Ives is one of my favourite places in the world.

Lovely video. We are down in Cornwall next month and plan to visit here, and maybe get the drone up. Though we are pretty new to the drone experience. Really want to fly it over the sea and around a lighthouse, but a bit nervous about it.
I still get jelly legs every time I fly over the sea, especially if I’m flying over cliffs. I’d say, if you want so fly over the sea, take off from a beach first and fly around the sore line to build up your trust in the drone. What are you flying?

@@dannypearcedannyboycornishlad oh dear!! Get the aftersun out!! Did you have to let any Air Traffic control know in that area? Thinking of flying there tonight for a project I'm working on. We had just finished repairing some of the window panes on the Lighthouse so we were taking down the scaffolding
I didnt phone the airport as I knew I was going to be flying pretty low and I didn't stray into the no fly zone.

Thank you. The national trust don't like you flying around their areas but as long as you don't take off from their property, you aren't breaking any rules, though I do try to be as respectful as I can be to them as I really appreciate what they do and I'm very careful around areas with lots of wildlife, especially nesting birds. It's also a good idea to phone RNAS Culdrose and inform them of where you intend to fly.

Wow stunning shots! We were in Wales a while back at Snowdonia, such a stunning place. Really want to get to see the Brecon Beacons! Hahaha, last holiday we took our drone to the Yorkshire Dales and nearly lost it in the wild wind, so nuts when you're flying up high!
Yeah, the wind was making quite nervous up there. I would have liked to have flown a bit higher and closer but I didn't fancy the trek to look for my drone if the worst happened. Maybe at some day I'll take off from the top if the conditions are are right. I'm dying to get up to Snowdonia at some point. Bit jealous!
@@dannypearcedannyboycornishlad We didn't have the drone when we were at Snowdonia! We're definitely up for another trip out there soon though. We've only recently got a spark, so it's quite easy to push around in the wind. When we launched it on the ridge of the hills at the Yorkshire Dales and it started flying in the opposite direction my stomach dropped 😱 Haha lucky we got it back though. The peaks are pretty stunning if you can get out there too!
You've created a good format, Danny. Relevant facts and epic music, (rather than the dross that usually accompanies drone vids). I really loved the close shot of the shore that transitioned to the lighthouse. I'm inspired to try this sort of thing myself and that's solely based on experiencing how you've progressed in such a short amount of time. Keep it up dude. You've discovered your talent for sure!

@@dannypearcedannyboycornishlad Film from the summit of Snowdon as the mist covers the lowlands. The most surreal experience of my life was spent on Carn Brea after I drank my first ever 'shroom brew. I sat there with a few pre-rolled doobies, (I was/am heavily into the Slaine graphic novels and celtic mythology), and watched the whole world gradually disappear as the thick mist created a sea that meant that I was on an island with nothing but wispy , cloudy waves beneath me and the most beautiful sunset above me. I'd kill to have been able to capture that in 4k.
