This program is a SCAM. They are only choosing high functioning kids for this ‘research’. Guess what they’ll do when there are improvements? … Tout this study and say this is EFFECTIVE for EVERYONE on autism spectrum. Even ones that are not as high functioning as the kids in this ‘research’. These guys are here only to fleece money. I am ashamed and appalled that University of Alabama is legitimizing this sham of a research!!

My wife is always finding ways to help struggling students. All children can learn, however some take a little longer. Those children need a variety of teaching methods. Every teacher works hard. The trick is getting the most out of every lesson and having a lesson that teaches students. I remember a young 4th grade teacher once stated at a meeting of 3rd and 4th grade teachers, if you 3rd grade teachers would just teach them to write paragraphs, we could teach them to write 5 paragraphs. Just ponder the thoughts of the 3rd grade teachers. The key to student success is reading(PERIOD!). Seeing Stars gives you tools to teach reading and a variety of other skills in an upbeat format. As for me, I just retired after 28 years of teaching. Having taught k-1, 3-8 grades throughout my career, readers are the succeeders. Further, for the last 3 years, I was the kindergarten teacher that fed into Dorit's class. We piloted the program and documented the progress. My conclusion is that it works.
