Music, Spoken Word and Miscellanea
Registrace 15. 06. 2017
Music, Spoken Word, and Miscellanea houses a collection of rare-ish audio recordings that are not easily found elsewhere. The focus of the channel is on spoken word, particularly poetry, as well as leftfield music from privately pressed records and library music.
These recordings, in some instances, offer a unique listening experience. The emphasis lies in preserving and making accessible these often elusive audio snippets, as they might hold some cultural and historical significance. Even if that significance is simply not forgetting this cultural detritus and ephemera existed.

Joe Sherman - No Holes Barred
Pretty provocative title from Joe Sherman - lovely guitar riff, brassy parp and hammond. Library music as it should be.

Another Joe Sherman number - up tempo, nice drums and brass. Definitely would not feel out of place in the Austin Powers soundtrack. Lovely easy sax; pretty groovy.
Joe Sherman - Like Now!

Joe Sherman's composition for Synchro Fox - it almost has a Northern Soul-esque quality to it. Pumping little library number, brass and drums. Nice.

Quirky little piece from Roger Roger on Chappell. It is from a collection of loosely classical sounding cues. A slow wistful theme for flute, guitar, organ, bass and drums.

Quite a groovy little number from Larry Page and the gang on Contour records. This was written by B Foote. Larry Page was the manager of the Kinks as well as a producer, writer and arranger.

Take Six - Dream Theme Version 1

This is from the album Patterns attributed to Take Six. Take Six are essentially an unknown set of session players. The album as a whole is a bit mixed in terms of tone - there are some absolute bangers on there though. These Dream Themes are lovely, gentle, and enjoyable on a Sunday evening. Written by Paul Rupert Lewis.

David Snell - Charlie Is My Darling
zhlédnutí 1,5KPřed 5 měsíci
This is the David Snell arrangement of the traditional song Charlie is My Darling; for two harps, one on each side of the stereo spread. It is taken from the Studio2Stereo album Harp and Soul. This was a sub-label of EMI seeking to demonstrate the potential of stereo through easy listening and light classical records.
Sight and Sound - Woodstock (from Woodstock)
zhlédnutí 1,7KPřed 5 měsíci
Taken from the album Movie Themes Of Today. One of the more collectable albums on Contour, sought-after for the version of "Fragments Of Fear" that this record contains. In addition to that track is this cue tucked at the end of side 1; a groovy version of the Woodstock main theme.

John Osbourne Orchestra - Gone Like The Wind

Taken from the album Blaze Away - An album of strong melodic themes played by The Roger Messer - John Osbourne Orchestra. Another example of library music from the 80s. Some electric piano and nicely recorded drums on this.
Syd Dale - Spring Rain

This is from the album SF 1016 from the Sam Fox/ Synchrofox Music Library. The US label under Sam Fox Film Rights, Inc. This label actually was involved in the trade since the 1910s, when they started out selling folios of sheet music for silent movies ("photoplay music"), including several cues by J.S. Zamecnik. According to listings in Business Screen Magazine, they started releasing recorded...
Andy Clark - What Rocks You?
zhlédnutí 1KPřed 6 měsíci
Some surprisingly funky, synthtastic backed, flugel horn on this Andy Clark cue. The later KPM output is not as beautifully recorded as the golden age of the late 60s and early 70s. It is always worth giving the 80s stuff a try though as the case here.

Beautiful, soothing sounds. Flute and Fender Rhodes piano make a great combo.
I don't believe. I always heard this song in old Turkish movies. I am so happy.💗 Thank you 🙂

No way - had no idea that was on there. Thanks
@@musicspokenwordandmiscellanea This album was made by the mystery moustache man people saw at the coronation, a Welsh guy called Karl Jenkins who used to be part of a band called Soft Machine. He composed a couple of pieces for the coronation as well.
nice sample !

Jazz harp. Cool.
There's no one who plays it like David Snell.

Lovely, elegant, sophisticated. Thankfully, I think there's evidence that the young(er) generation is getting it. Thanks for posting this and for just;... sharing.
Thanks dude, hope you're having a good one.
Part of the younger generation, these songs are so calming ❤

this is beautiful
THANK YOU!!! THIS IS OUTSTANDING!! This song is so brilliantly used near the end of the Super Bowl 3 film made by NFL Films as Johnny Unitas and the heavily favored Baltimore Colts fell short of the New York Jets 16-7. I've looked for a clean version of this song...my whole life! Thank you! czcams.com/video/PnRwd1piEd0/video.html Go to the 22:42 mark.
happy for u. i know that feeling
real shit
HELLO! Do you happen to have the track "Spring Rain" by Syd Dale off of this album? That is such a beautiful track - it was on an old NFL Films Super Bowl movie years ago and I believe it's on the SF 1016 album. If you have that - PLEASE upload that and I will become your BIGGEST fan! Have a nice day!

Amazing
I am imagining a cinematic montage transitioning to a phalanx of new 1972 Vauxhalls driving in formation over a giant quadrangle. 😊
Sounds great.
We who love poems will always end up here. It’s the perfection for those of us that remember old England, too.
