Hi there, Iâm also waiting for my Excess 11 in Greece in May. Exciting đŹïž
Already joined the facebookgroup?
Nope, as personal choice I have no such platforms. Utube is the only channel I have. Are you sailing in the Med?
This is not our boat. Itâs from a other Dutch family that invited us to sail with them. They just did the Arc. At the moment Iâm building my own company www.blueoceanexperience.nl with a first Excess 11 to. We do business and coachingevents in the Netherlands. This year June we will pick up a new Excess 11 in France. Bring her to NL before we will start sailing the world in 2025 while extending my business. Blue Ocean Experience the company is on CZcams to. There we have a first intro movie. Have a great day. Nanno.
a big kite's my favorite sail.
No hurry :)
Wat een toepasselijke naam! Mooie boot
I am assuming that the AIS has to be installed with a power supply in order to program it? I am trying to do it on the desk with just the USB cable an nothing is happining. Can anyone confirm this? I have the em-trak B921 Class B
Hmm.....I answered my own question. I changed the serial port and it started to work. Thank you!
Allways follow the spinaker, rule #1
So is the board a blow up board ??
Yea itâs an inflatable version. Perfect for on the boat.
Thanks so much really useful
Hi paul Very clear. How you remove the cover to plug the usbc cable?
Really good
do you have the polars for the setup used? thx in advance!
Will ask the owner.
Does the table of the dinning room transforms into a bed??
No it does not.
Why self tacking jib ?
Comes standard with the yacht because of the rigging setup. Works great also in light er wind. If really to under powered. We put up the Code0. Really fun on this X. But for the regattaâs we sail on her we also have a special 105%. For the 105% some changes had to be made. Like installing the tracks.
@@SailingStormvogel Ah ok. Nice boat
This deserves wayyy more views!
Prachtig schip!
Een genot om op mee te mogen zeilen.
We had a great time, Nanno and Tekla!
We are ready for our next joint adventure. đ
Great job! Nice video.
Thanks Michael!
Cool!
Thanks Peter. 1,8 minutes clip out of a 20 minutes flight. đ
Had to edit this one from last year. 2021 Spending summer up in the North. Hope you like the footage. We had a blast.
Very interesting movie!! Thank you!! The 24hrs is one of the coolest competitions in Europe!đ
Hi Paul, Nice video, is there a GPS in the AM track, so I can use a iPad without gps? Best regards, Martin.
Hi, it's Nanno. And Yes the AIS has a GPS build in that can be used with IPad to. If I'm correct it can be used for GPS functionality to.
Beautiful Nanno and Tekla, we love the music and you are bringing us back to NL for a moment. Thank you!
Thanks Feel The Breeze family. Invested in a epidemic sound subscription. Gives the vlogs a lot of extra.
Moet ik even induiken. Afgelopen weekend melde een maatje dat hij mij wel zag maar niet de snelheid die ik had. 2. In de mobile app zie je of je ook uitzend. Groet Nanno.
Hi!! I have bought the same Em trak and I need the Host and the port number to connect it with Navionics manually? Wher did you find those numbers? Thank you!!
No just connect to the WiFi of the AIS and go to Navionics app. It will appear in the list of devices you can connect. Or will already be there.
love the stats overlay...made for a great video presentation...enjoyable to watch and understand at the same time. Share how that was overlayed on video?
This is filmed with a GoPro. The GoPro logs all the gps data when enabled. There is free software to present this. And I think you can now also use it direct from the GoPro mobile app.
@@SailingStormvogel Thanks mate!
Vang on hard. Tweaker on sheet was loose. It should be hauled in tight to prevent the kite from oscillating to windward (at 2:19). The pole was already pretty far forward, but ease even more when the boat started to roll to windward. Easing sheet makes it worse, because the kite rotates to windward, hauling the boat around to leeward (at 2:22).
Release the pole not the sheet on the spinnaker . Main could have been tighter , kicker hard on .
Beautiful Sail Nanno...thanks for sharing!!!! We almost forgot the beauty of the Netherlands, the Waddenzee, Ijsselmeer and Terschelling. Did you meet our friends from the SY Spirit of Blacklock over there?
No I did not. I looked them up on internet. Wow what a beautiful ship they have! A Koopmans! Did they arrive the same day?

Looks like some lovely Sailing! Lekker Boot!
Hi Nanno, I enjoyed your video. Similar to you, I am looking for a way to show AIS data on my tablet that I use for navigation. Preferably also transmitting my own AIS signal. I don't want a second antenna or additional plotter. My VHF is an older type, with DSC / ATIS, but now internal GPS. The tablet's GPS is the only one I have. Since the EM-Trak B924 has an internal GPS, I was hoping it would be able to supply GPS via NMEA to my VHF, and possibly even GPS via Wifi to my tablet, since the tablet's GPS antenna does not have the best reception at all times. My question to you: Do you have any experience with sharing the GPS signal of the EM-Trak with other devices with use of the internal antenna? Also, how is the Navionics integration working out for you so far? I use Navionics as well, but other sailors have shared their experience with me saying the navionics AIS functionality is lacking compared to other solutions (ie no proximity /collission alerts)... Last question: when your ios device is connected to Em-trak's wifi, will it still use 4G for mobile data/internet, or do you have to disconnect from wifi to update maps/tides or send whatsapp ;-) ? Kind regards, Paul
Hi Paul, A couple of things: 1. This AIS sends and receives. 2. No experience with sharing the data in my NMEA 0183 network. 2.GPS to VHF: It depends on your VHF device plus if it is capable to do NMEA 2000 or 0183 communication. My Raymarine VHF is new and does support both networks. But has it's own internal GPS. I do not have Marcom B so DSC is disabled. And there fore GPS data will not be send on the signal. Only Atis number. And in stress I have my position on the display on the radio. 3. Internal GPS of the AIS in my Beneteau is working perfect. Good fix. 4. Yes I use one antenna. And as stated in the vlog. I have the correct voltage to support a good signal. This you will need to test. It has all to do with the signal straight true the cable. You can read the number in the config. app. 5. GPS to tablet: I need to test. This also depends on your Tablet I think. I will test this in the upcoming weeks with my Ipad Pro. 6. AIS data in Navionics is basic. But works fine for me. I can see the targets with basic info. I need to start testing with other chart apps. Hope this helps. Nanno.
Hi Paul, You've probably figured it out by now, but I was successful in sharing GPS data from my Em-Trak 954 to my VHF via NMEA 0183. Let me know if you have questions. GPS to tablet works as well. I use an iPad with iSailor.
@@KyleOlmstead Hi Kyle, I went to a dealer to ask the same question. They said sharing the data via NMEA 0183 will work via internal wifi on board. The challenge for me will be the use of the internal GPS antenna. I have a steel boat. The dealer assumes I will require an external antenna to get a signal
@@paulbijlsma Hi Paul, Not sure what "sharing the data via NMEA 0183 will work via internal WiFi" means. In my situation, my Em-Trak is "hardwired" to my VHF via NMEA 0183 (in my case the yellow, purple, and gray wires) and not WiFi dependent. Having an external GPS antenna for the EM-Trak sounds like a good idea in your case. And yes, you can still use phone data while connected to the Em-Trak.
Also, it is my understanding that the Em-trak will not add all of your NMEA 0183 data to your network nor make it available on wifi. There is a chart on pages 38-39 of the Em-Trak manual. I am going to get a Yacht Devices YDNR-02 WiFi gateway for that.
genieten zie ik al
Hi Sailing Stormvogel, great video, do you mind if we share it on our em-trak channel?
