I started making videos on the subjects of renewable energy and watershed hydrology for my undergraduate students during pandemic. I enjoy to make videos on the basic concepts of science which are not very clear to students or are difficult to remember. Your question is not clear. But I am assuming you're asking about 6 cubic meter of biogas plant which has a digester size of 12 cubic meter. 6 cubic meter is the gas volume generated daily. 12000 kg or 12 cubic meter in case of slurry is digester volume calculated using retention time concept.

I use six 100 watt solar panels wired in parallel to my forty gallon water heater. I switched out the 220 volt elements for two 600 watt 12VDC elements. I ALWAYS have hot water.
Yes.. that's another way to heat water 💧. The efficiency is 20% for costly photovoltaic panels and around 50% for low-cost thermal collectors. So one has to make a choice depending upon requirements.😀

Is there no way by which retention time can be shortened in a digester?
Your question has many scenarios. let me discuss one by one case 1. less retention time by design Ans. we can easily do this (i) by increasing flow rate (ii) by decreasing volume of digester case 2. decrease digestion time and thereby decrease retention time (i) increase temperature (ii) control growth parameters by adding specific bacteria this may require research let me know which scenario you are thinking
The last scenario involving introduction of inoculant and using biofilm carrier to increase bacteria population.

Firstly, let me thank you for having made the best video on the subject. Secondly, If I've 20 gercy cows, what size of the plant is recommended? And can feed the plant daily with the cow waste? Or should I keep the waste dumped elsewhere and feed the plant occasionally? Best regards

for 20 cows assuming 15 kg dung total dung is 300kg . approximately 12 cubic gas can be generated daily. dimensions of the plants require more data . These plants are designed such that all the cow dung is fed daily.

Temperature can be controlled using temperature sensors. In a passive dryer , temperature can be lowered using fans. This required for sensitive material like seeds. Dryers are designed for a particular product when such sensitivities are to be taken care off.

Two three ways 1.Keep outlet slabs covered with insulated material e.g paddy straw 2. Cover inlet after use 3. Use hot water if available for daily feed
