I’m new to soap making and have been trying to figure out what companies to buy from. Who sells the better product, who has the better prices and who has the best customer service. Please share your experience.

Hi, I had a lye mixture where the weight calculations were off so I couldn’t use it and I have a prebatched lye that I could not use in a timely fashion. How would you recommend I dispose of both please? Desperate new soap maker here. Was typing this in the unclog video but it ended before I pressed post and it ended up here.

? I make 64 oz of soap for my mold. Sometimes there's too much and it becomes hard not drip when I move it on my self . Would lowering my water value help? TY Dawn

I'm way late to the party but I'll be making my first batch today and this was hugely helpful!

People make things too complicated when it does not need to be. You don't need a lot of equipment to make soap. You can get your lye and fragrance oils off Amazon a lot cheaper than most of your soap making supply shops. I know several people who get the oils they use for making soaps at Sam's Club and/or Costco. A mircowave oven is all you need to melt oils and fats. If you don't want to cut the soap spend a little bit of money on some silicone bar molds but other than that a simple kitchen knife will do. I should do a podcast episode about this considering I've been doing research on soap making off and on for years.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think you can even say what the essential oils themselves do other than they're an ingrate in the soap without having to register with the FDA. Well, if you fined away to make soap that cured personality disorders, Please let me know. I have plenty of people I can buy them for as a stocking stuffer for Christmas 🤣

Making claims on soaps that supposedly “cure” anything is an issue that ruins it for those of us out here just trying to make SOAP. The more stupid stuff people do, the more the rule makers create more rules.

Great video! I stick to 50/50 coconut oil and high oleic sunflower oil, I love how it feels, and it fits my budget. But when I post my recipe on any Facebook soap group everyone is gets up in arms lol. I wish more people knew that cheap oils actually make better soap 🤫

It's not the same. Vitamin c and b are destroyed in the pasteurization process used to make the powdered milk. The fat content is altered also so it's not as moisturizing. Yes it's easier,but not the same quality as using fresh goat milk

Homogenize it ? You’re thinking of pasteurization. Goat’s milk is naturally homogenized.

Side note: I'd be curious as to what your experience is with the young missionaries demonizing you. I've run into them several times 😊 and have had nothing but positive interactions with them. Kind, respectful, sweet young men and women, in my opinion/experience.

Look up an article called "How Washington destroyed the washing machine". I suggest everybody read it everything that's being said here is true these modern high efficiency washers are terrible. Did you not use enough water and soap to get the clothes clean. This is another failure in the whole green religion movement

You mentioned French milled soap. I LOVE French milled soap. It lasts so much longer than regular HP or CP soap. Even if you put embeds, that will help your soap to last longer also.

Forgot to say I raise dairy goats and I use their milk in my soaps but I have also used powdered milk, there is a difference in the bars. Using the milk raw and freezing it it will not loose any benefits. Whey is important, Your bars are harder using the powdered milk without having everything that raw milk has to.

What they take out is the whey part that is in the goats milk, I kinda agree the powdered is ok but defiantly it looses the extra vitamins that helps our skins out.

So initially I wanted to do cold process soap, I did do a few batches but lately I've been wanting to try hot process just to experience it. I think depending on what kind of soap you want, you would choose either. There's plenty to know in soap making. It's super fun.
