I took her workshop. She is very good with horses and pretty evil as a teacher. She had obvious favorites and I was an obvious not favorite, she was pretty awful. I remember one time she asked a complex question and none of her hotshots got the answer. I did and she gave me the strangest look. It was one of the worst experiences of my life. But I did a good job on an old horse she gave me to punish me a bit more and she had to admit I'd done more than she'd imagined.

The education from Ms. Murdoch is incredible. I will continue to listen/read everything she has available. Thank you for the podcast. My horse is actually shut down, and I am working with him to help bring him out of his shut down mode as a way of dealing with life. He has had a lot of trauma in his life, he has several large scars on his body. I have also been told that he has been physically abused by humans. In the past 6 months I have started learning so much about horses. Allecia is one of the amazing people I have discovered in my journey to learn more about horses.

One of the most misquoted and misunderstood phrases amongst modern competition riders is long and low. And yet there is outrage over Rollkur. There is huge amounts of confusion on how ride with the horses back and quarters engaged from youngster to advanced. The amount of poor riding and inadequate training at top level is terrible.

I am 63 now listening to George I have fond memories of George and Captain Sanna, I learnt much from Captain Sanna and George in the 1970s in Tasmania. I educated adults and children at pony club in Queensland now I no longer ride but my granddaughter is now working her job in equine industry… I’ve passed this video to my granddaughter to listen to.

The scales of training goes way beyond the words it is basic to every discipline and is based in classical ethos and for all breeds of horses wether modern warm bloods or baroque horses. Told here by an expert master of his craft.

Excellent basic overview of training principles. The point could also have been made that only a rider totally in charge of their own biomechanics can successfully train a horse and that’s what most of us starting out do not understand as we don’t know what we don’t know. Random, ill timed, inconsistent signals by an asymmetrical, weak, disorganised riders (novices) cause so much confusion for horses. To say that the rider should just sit there and allow the horse to do what it does perpetuates this myth.

Worked as a groom at the mounted police with Karen for eight and a half years till 1996,she was always a very well liked, knowlagable and respected lady. Wish her all the very best in her career as a racehorse trainer.
