Man, we are spoiled with good cameras these days... Now as a hybrid shooter I'm also curios what Canon will bring to the table this year.. :)

Thanks, I appreciate that! I think the total number of shoot days was around 10-15, but that spanned over the period of several months based on the nature of skateboarding (injuries, weather, schedules, and sometimes things just don't work out haha).

Hey! My email and other social links are in the "about" section on my profile, but happy to answer your questions here. As for using the Komodo, I absolutely love it. Having a true raw format to edit with is game changing and the global shutter captures motion so nicely. As for slow motion - I actually don't shoot in slomo very often, but the crop you get in 4K60p is not so bad. As long as you have lenses wide enough to compensate for that, it's really not a problem. I did also recently get a Sony FX3 as a b-cam, so now I can also use that for the times where I might want to do 60p or even 120p in 4K with no cropping. Hope this helps!

thanks a lot! I love the Komodo, I've had mine for just about 2 years now. The Blackmagic cameras are incredible and definitely a big jump up from mirrorless cams like the Sony's. I had my Pocket 4K for a little over a year before I got the Komodo. The Pocket 6K I think would be a really good upgrade option for you to get a more cinematic image and start using RAW or ProRes formats more. It's also WAY more affordable than a Komodo haha (after buying the body, memory cards, hard drives to store footage, batteries, and all accessories needed, I probably spent $10k+). Making money from filming skateboarding is just a bonus for me at this point in my career, the majority of my income is from normal video jobs and lots of video editing, but it's worth it!

@@filmalltay Thanks for advice… I’ll probably get the BMPCC 6K pro. For the type of content I like to create I think it will be good. Enjoy your Komodo… glad you’re being able to make a living from filming, editing etc.. at the moment I still got my full time job which has nothing to do with videography but who know in the future. I hope you get to work a bit more in the skateboarding industry. So many new new videos out there every single day but only a handful of the good stuff. Your videos are great! 👊🏻

@@RonaldoBeatles I think the 6K Pro would suit you well. Hopefully the future brings more of your passion for video into work for yourself too, but always do it for the passion first and foremost!

I definitely prefer the RS2 in terms of weight, especially when skating with it (it's more than half the weight of the Crane 3). For any gimbal work, I use the BP batteries on the Komodo to cut down on weight and have the ability to hot swap still. If you want to use a v-mount though, you should check out the RS2 battery plates from Tilta - tilta.com/shop/battery-plate-to-rs-2-power-pass-through-plate-kit/ I have one for gold mount batteries and it works way better than trying to have the battery mounted on the back of the camera. You just need a 2-pin lemo or d-tap to Komodo power cable.

@@tonymonsivais7637 it's hard to recommend an exact camera without knowing your skill level, and it's not that I wasn't recommending the BMPCC4K, just pointing out its quirks rather (which every camera has pros and cons). Other DSLRs are great too though, like the Panasonic GH5 or new GH6. The Sony cameras are amazing too like the a7 III or IV and they have excellent features. Unfortunately there is no perfect camera out there, but I'd suggest just buying one that seems to have most of the features you're looking for and has lens options that work for you. The first thing you might actually want to do is find what lenses you'd want to use and then buy a camera based on your lens options. Hope this helps!
