I BOUGHT 5 2021 ARGO FRONTIER 6X6 FOR TESTING PURPOSES
In this video my friend and I test the different models of the Argo Frontier. The 700 was by far our favorite the bigger tires made the biggest difference and the EFI was a huge plus

Ultimate Diamond C 5 year durability review video! That trailer looks like it was hammered!
Put a roller on the front of the tilt to allow the winch cable to run over while it's tilted. No need for ramps.
Great Video... I just got done doing the exact same thing to a PJ Trailer... I did not have to buy new axles tho... Ouch !! Cha Ching !! Your stuck with me I subscribed.... LOL can't wait to see part 2
How's them wheel bearings holding up!
A pro tip for packing wheel bearings with grease is to put a giant blob of grease in the palm of your hand, grab the bearing with thumb and forefinger and slap them into your palm with the grease (rotating it of course). You will be so surprised at how that bearing will almost soak up that grease like a sponge. I'm not trying to be a know it all, an old timer showed me that years ago and it works. That and pounding that bearing into place I would recommend a soft-blow or dead blow (brass head or plastic head) hammer instead of a claw hammer lol
I hate to say it man but those bearings were packed wrong, but nice video
Personally would’ve refrained from sandblasting the inside of the brake drums just kinda seems like your costing yourself some premature wear on the shoes
hello from the Netherlands . thanks for the video Mike . Sincerely Hollandduck
In regards to the winch. You could possibly mount a roller at the front of the tilt section that is recessed in the deck when the deck is down, but when you are winching the cable can roll. Once you get your load up to the deck I wouldn't think there would be enough force from the winch to pull the deck down either.
I think I would of cleaned up the trailer and painted it before putting the axles back under it.
Another option would be to run a strip of 1/2", or thereabout, UHMW across the front edge of the tilt deck, tagged into the steel with some countersunk bolts.
Anyone that has saving and junkyard in rhe title you got my subscription. But I don't think anyone in their right mind would send a tilt trailer to the junkyard.
Nice video. As far as the winch, most people have mentioned a roller on the tilt portion. Another option is to recess a receiver hitch in the non-tilting portion and have a post with a roller or snatch block. Bottom of receiver should be capped with a drain hole, so you don't have to pin the post. Made mine from 2x2 hitch stock with an eye on it to accept a snatch block. Works great. and not that much in material or fab time. Haven't bent it yet, but I'm careful to not side load it in any way.
Great video. Please get a lapel microphone. Audio was terrible.
I would make a removable steel roller that you can put on the tilt section for the cable to roll over. Then no messing with ramps and a lot less work
I will never understand how people can beat their equipment so hard in just 4 years. That trailer had to have been super expensive, just to trash it.
Man this is exactly what I was thinking. Even if you use something everyday for 4 years it shouldn't be in that bad of shape. That thing was basically ruined. I can see why it was heading to the junk yard.
Some people look at what the max weight is for it and think they can exceed that weight. Or they are doing a full send when pulling machines on and off, hitting curbs hard into jobsites, etc, etc. Some people just don't treat their investment with any form of care.
Landscape crews will destroy anything!!
pro tip. there should be NO torque on wheel bearings when you cotter pin them. snug and spin to seat, back off to the first cotter pin alignment AFTER it loosens. the point is to have as little free play as possible without having the bearing in a bind. any preload on a high speed bearing will cause it to heat up and fail. good job on saving something that needed a little love.
Wrong
@@williamuskoski1385 well explain why...
this is the way I was taught!
Those bearings probably lasted a week.
Put a heavy duty steel roller on the front end of the tilting section for the Winchester cable to travel over.
Problem with that is when putting a strain on the cable it will want to pull down on the tilt deck
@@mattlent6031 Locking bolts for when the deck is tilted and closed will fix that issue, done that on one of my trailers after I tried it out and realized that the deck will till back down hahaha
Not hating but curious why the ramps? Why not add a roller on the top of the tilt deck for the winch cable to slide on that way you can still use the tilt function of the trailer.
Was wondering the same thing, great job
In my opinion o would have made a mount on front of tilt deck for the winch in addition to one on front of trailer so u could winch what ever up on to tilt deck then winch it fwd if needed once deck is flat
And I was taught to replace cotter pins than reuse them and to let them go down rather than up but that’s how I was taught 😊😊
I wanna say because the tension of the cable over the deck will force the deck down before what he's pulling touches the back. Especially if it's not close.
A simple retractable bar, just before the highpoint, can support the winch cable. You see them all the time on log trailers.
You have no idea how to pack and adjust wheel bearings.
That spare mount c channel is going to hold water or moisture look into that
What the heck were they doing with this trailer? As far as the winch goes I would build a raised roller system that can be removed to clear the deck when winching if that makes sense ? Or a snatch block hanging from some sort of removable frame ? Any of these ideas could slide into the stake pockets and be removable. You could just buy a separate winch fairlead and mount it on a frame as well probably the easiest route
Ordered mine from E-trailer
I had one it had a bent spindle replaced complete axle it was causing one tire to wear out tires wasn’t lined up but you had to look close problem solved
Do you always leave the latch on the hitch open when connected to the trailer? When you tested the tractor it was unlatched.
He’s lucky it was a tilt and not a ramp trailer
Great score on the trailer, but that is NOT how you pack bearings! other than that, nice work and a great shop!
Nice work
looks so sick!
