Haha really liked that end bit mate. I absolutely love Sunderland actually, the beaches are some of the best in the country and yeah, I would hate Sunderland to even resemble almost anywhere else. I'm really happy you have great memories of this city. All the best mate.

I've definitely noticed both of those things growing rapidly over the last couple of years, I never thought about Sunderland ever looking like a big city, but I guess this is it now, we either have to accept this trajectory, attempt to change it (voting?)or leave. I have to admit that it's a good tactic as negativity does well for clicks, but Newcastle is doing really good compared with almost every city in England (save for London) so I can't honestly focus on the 2 little dead areas like other CZcamsrs would. Many thanks for the comment Ian mate, Yeah, it's almost like human nature dictates that some areas aren't worth exploring or visiting, like those weird shortcuts on the grass next to a path 😂 Strangely enough though, this area of Eldon square/gardens is really interestingly laid out, same as the Arcade, right in the centre, yet eerily empty. Just found this comment, Yeah, it was a bit quiet, Newcastle is one of the places that usually surprises people with it's busy streets too. I can't remember exactly when I shot this, it was just unused footage that I thought was worth a share. Never been to Worcester, I wonder if I'll ever need to be there at some point in life haha Cheers Ian mate.

@@JordyShowWalks Yeah I know the coastline pretty well. I walked from Craster to Dunstanburgh Castle just a few years ago. Unfortunately I wasn't making videos back then or that would have made a spectacular one for my channel. It's stunning there. Back in the late 1990's, I was fortunate to get a secondment to Northern Screen (North East Screen as they are now) when they were based in Felling. It was only for a year but it was the most enjoyable year of my working life until I finally got to work for HMV in more recent years. At the time Northern Screen were very close to getting Spielberg to film Saving Private Ryan on the Durham coast but the greed of landowners scuppered it and they eventually filmed that opening beach sequence in Ireland. Any future plans to feature other film locations? I bloody love that kind of thing.

The only thing that's changed is that there's no tesco anymore 😂 There's a massive one over the bridge now.

I think it was about 7/8pm mate, quite strange to be this empty I agree.

There really is something special and uplifting about the place, I can't put my finger on it, but I always leave with happy memories. Yeah, I went to Craster and Beadnell that day too, all stunning places, there's a pizza place called embers that had the best reviews ever, so I went there too, I can definitely recommend it ha.

@JordyShowWalks it is like a well kept secret Northumberland still isn't it, although I think tv series like Vera has shown folks how gorgeous it is and robson green doing his series. I kinda want to keep it a secret, keep the crowds away lol. will definitely remember the pizza thankyou 🤣🤣!!

Yeah, I saw that, but still, it's a bit sad that the streets are so empty, just because the bridges is shut, surely there's a reason to be outside after 5pm other than drinking or filming youtube videos about how dead the streets are ha Nah, it's the same everywhere I suppose, let's hope the summer gets us all out and about. It was a Sunday if I recall, probably 8pm too actually, but still, it's unusually dead no? We have a thing up here called "Sunday Club" which usually means loads of people out on the drink, so it was surprising to see so little going on in the city centre.

Haha nah its not that bad (it seems to be mainly tourists doing the drinking these days up here) but it definitely was headed that way until the youth stopped playing out and just vape at home on tiktok now. Even though it's disgraceful how it used to be with the drinking culture, I do feel saddened when I see those pubs across the country disappearing or the empty streets. @@JordyShowWalks Youth not having anything to do in this country is the biggest downfall. Not allowed to have any purpose or character building activities besides needing to break the law to have any kind of fun. As for pubs, probably better for the best if they're gone at large. This country has no culture or identity and any form of culture is related to getting moribdly drunk and losing self respect.

Ahh so it's always been quite....alternative. I do like these types of places where people congregate and mix and just be themselves, reminds me of a weird town square where people could voice opinions without danger
